weather has nothing to do with it, this has been overblown nonsense from the beginning. Certain folks are being exposed. Locking down LA until July is a purely political move aimed at the election and other states are doing the same. It seems like everyone is coming around to what I said a month and a half ago....They were lying about the death toll. Just now they are taking deaths away from the count lol. I and others were told mentioning that was purely Fox new conspiracy. And now here we are and that's exactly what happened. Over 82% of deaths in my state are in nursing homes, those should have been the best protected places since the initial outbreak in Washington. Do you think weather played a role on those deaths? I do residential construction, business never stopped and I can't tell you of a single solitary person who got this virus because they continued on working and living life as normally as possible. And its a good thing they kept working when they could because there will be another mortgage crisis to follow that is going to be devastating to this industry. I hope many of you have learned a valuable lesson about the intentions of the US mainstream media. They and some other corrupt party attempted to destroy the economy solely because they don't like the orange guy. But hey, do you know what would really help the country now? How about we send free money to illegal aliens, have a mass release of prisons, maybe give large amounts of money to Cannabis stores, more money to planned parenthood, or even mail in voting. That all is directly connected to the virus crisis right? What a bunch of frauds, biggest scam in American history.6 points

If by "killed diesel engines" you mean stopping bro's from being able to delete their emissions equipment and roll coal everywhere than yes, they have killed them. This 3.0 Duramax is not like the older diesel engines that struggled to adapt to modern emissions requirements when all the rules came down. This engine was designed from the ground up for the rules and regulations in place today and although this engine is so new nobody can really tell anything about longevity at this point, I think GM has set this engine up to thrive. You would be doing yourself a disservice to write off the 3.0 without giving it a fair shake. As for the 2.8 vs the 3.0, it's not really a debate. The 3.0 gets better fuel economy, has more power and comes in a bigger truck.3 points

Here's my .02 for what it is worth. Saw the greatly improved operation of the '19 Silverado LEDs over my previous '16s HID projectors. I wanted LEDs so that's why I paid the extra bucks for them stock on the upscale models of my Silverado and the and Traverse rather than jamming just any substitute in a lens housing not designed specifically for them. Seems I have one advantage, because intuitively I don't know $hit about what's best for substituting a particular LED source in a generic housing designed for a different design halogen bulb. . But, I do know enough not to take the word of any marketer with a vested interest in selling them deferring to someone who doesn't have a dog in the fight with the ability and equipment to conduct and unbiased objective test. The best video I've seen on the subject not only includes the theory but puts all then different brands and types of LEDs to measurable physical testing in multiple type automotive reflector housings. Worth a look at this video to answer all the above by an objective tester. Basically demonstrates that an intelligent choice is not based upon brand, specs or brightness, but strictly upon the LED's ability to duplicate the point source of the halogen filament designed for a reflector housing. Here are some takeaways: Fan or no fan doesn't mean crap. The newer COB (chip on board) LED designs run much cooler absent reduce the amount of heat generating support circuitry and generate much less heat. Brightness of the LED has nothing to do with the amount of light exiting the Lens and available on the road. A properly designed lower output LED will put more light on the road than a poorly designed higher output brighter LED. A poorly designed lower output LED will cause more oncoming driver blindness than a higher output brighter LED. The further the LED design in mimicking a point source the greater the chance of projecting a poorly focused beam. Regardless of price and brand, the closer the design is to a single output LED in the thinnest heat sink carrier properly located at the same distance focus point as the filament of the halogen bulb it replaces.....the greatest the compatibility with the reflector housing in placing the maximum amount of light on the road with the proper focus to prevent blinding drivers.2 points

I think this statement requires some more research. These two countries are significantly impacted by each other. The physical proximity alone is cause for mutual considerations. On a personal level, I have immediate family as citizens in both countries and we take a keen interest in and care about the politics of both countries. This thread is about the Coronovirus which has very little respect for borders! ?2 points

3 years of Russia nonsense that actually implicates Hillary, the DNC, FBI, CIA and prior administration. 6 months of fake impeachment. 6 months of destroying the economy and blaming the President for deaths from a Chinese virus. Do you have any idea what those fairy tales have cost the American tax payers? That is what the MSM has sold the country this entire time. Seems real patriotic right? With all that resistance we still had the best economy this country had in 50 years until 3 months ago.2 points

Exactly, the isolation has proven not to be an effective measure whatsoever. Notice how no news outlets are saying a peep about Georgia? Remember a few weeks ago they were making a terrible decision and the numbers were gonna shoot through the roof, death everywhere. Sure would be calming if the news covered the positive results they are having....but they won't project positivity towards our country. They clearly want this to last forever to try and impact November. Even celebs and other typically quiet people are calling BS on all these extended lock downs in places. The left is destroying itself with their typical hypocrisy and I have to say its been fun to watch. And the whole Fox news is conspiracy network claim has lost all credibility. I get most of my news from internet non cable news sources, but If I do watch it on TV it is Fox. It's the only network that has reported anything factual in the last 4 years.2 points

This thread started Nov 14, 2018. It's been 18 months and windows are still leaking. We need a poll for what will come first: 1) Statement from GM on why the window frames crack and what the actual solution is 2) Vaccine for Covid192 points

I have a foam cannon with a gas pressure washer. Sure the gas machine is a little overkill but whatever. A smaller electric one would be nicer and less noise. The pressure washer does make far more foam than the hose as I've used both but either would work.1 point

Honestly the hardest part is just that I've never done it before for this truck and theres no instructions. I recorded some video clips and I'll make a DIY video for the upper part. Luckily the bumper removal is pretty well documented already. I'm just struggling getting my hands into some of these spots. Sun is going down and I started real late and didn't eat today so I'm going to call it a day. I need to do a little more research. Having done the front grill, I'm confident I could have it swapped out in about an hour if I had to do it again. It's just tedious Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk1 point

Actually, considering that a type of predatory lending aimed at the lower and middle class caused the last crisis, there were more people affected than you lead on. This time it still affects the lower and middle class more than anything. Oh, and seeing as how you previously stated that you don't care what happens in other countries, you might wanna look up isolationism and see how well that works......Bud.1 point

I finally found time to sit down and watch the entire thing. Some interesting points. Some things that don't make sense to me: As far as I know, in Canada, university employees are not government employees. Maybe it's different in the U.S.? I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing for universities to hold patents. Again, unless the word "university" has a very different meaning in the U.S., I think it's more likely that they would be looking out for the public good than corporations. Why was she working on making Ebola infectious to humans? What could Faucci possibly gain from killing a bunch of Africans who wouldn't be able to afford his drugs anyway? How can she be so sure that a ventilator is the wrong treatment and that hydroxychloroquine is the right one? I thought she wasn't allowed to do medical research any more. Our flu vaccines have had H1N1 in them since at least 2012, if not longer, so to try to blame that for deaths in Italy in 2020 is ridiculous. How does she know Italy's flu vaccine wasn't tested? Again, she's not in that world any more. We have thousands of pages of data saying that hydroxychloroquine has been effective against malaria, which is an infectious disease borne by parasites and doesn't affect the lungs, for 70 years. What does that have to do with a brand new coronavirus that is transmitted by airborne droplets, does affect the lungs and that we've just started to study? So this lady single handedly cured AIDS, autism and COVID-19 (and also created ebola) and then Faucci, Bayer, Monsanto (a crop science company, FYI), the FDA, the CDC and the WHO all told her "no, we want these people to suffer instead"? Natural remedies are better than medications developed through the application of science and technology. Ok, I guess we should go back to smoke signals and horses, too. Everyone turn in your phones and your Silverados at Judy's house. If I wear a mask, I'll get sick from my own viruses. Viruses that I already have in my body will enter my body and make me sick... I don't even know how to respond to something so utterly ridiculous. Sand and salt water have healing properties, eh? Just like the radium in the hot springs people traveled to use 100 years ago, I guess. She says she not against vaccines then says we shouldn't get vaccinated (particularly against the flu) and should go back to the old natural remedies...1 point

I was listening to Rush on my walk this morning, he’s up over 43 million daily tune ins to his show. Even with more testing in Georgia the numbers are going down. This is odd. If isolation worked the opposite should be happening. This whole operation was simply to flatten the curve. The blue people are trying to change it to wait for a vaccine. In Texas positive result for testing are increasing some. Even when hospitalization are going down. Seems the whole thing was called wrong, as our economy suffers. Meanwhile casinos are opening, yahoo! Planning a trip shortly.1 point

Nice Build! We just wrapped up our build last night. Received the truck in January and has been a work in progress since. We ran into several road blocks due to parts availability / compatibility with the new body style, but overall we're pretty happy with how it turned out. The size and ride height of the new body style makes it a perfect fit for a brush rig!1 point

@RST Mike thanks for the recommendation. I got them off of eBay for $7 each and covered all 6. Haven’t driven it yet to see the difference but I’m sure I’ll get a little bit more sound from it. The only thing I will say is you really have to tighten them down a lot to get it snug and the bolts are long and visible. I tried to hide it as much as possible and out of the way. They lost me when they were no longer 'stock cars'. So it's been awhile since I Oggled over NASCAR. Same with NHRA "Pro Stock" has nothing to do with stock but a look. Use to have rules that stated motors needed to be based on CURRENT stock configurations. Use factory platforms and so on. Still I loved T/F and AA/FC...that is until they started forcing payment above the premium. That is, you buy a dish package to get the channel. Then you have to pay for a premium channel to watch that channel which goes to the final round then you have to pay again to watch final rounds on a web based channel. Yea...greed kills it all eventually. I watch none of it anymore. The death of Indy was about all I could take. Cookie cutter cars and everyone gets a participation trophy. Children throwing tantrums.....buzzzzzz killerrrrrrrrrrrrrr1 point

A light ramble: I think something gets lost in threads like this. Everyone expects everyone else to have the same expectations, the same goals and the same motivations as they do. All that does is breed argument. Some guys are happy to toss a hundred grand at vehicles every three to five years, or sooner. Nothing past 100 K miles matters to them. Others see the vehicle to purchase as few as possible in a lifetime and see anything under 300 K a failure on their part. A few of us see a million miles at a doable goal. There are people without knowledge and others that just don't care at all. All of these dictate a different maintenance and operation method. There is a right and wrong for a given goal but there isn't a standard for all. Owners manuals and the maintenance guide in them are just that. Guides. They are not Bibles and yet some put more importance on the manual than they do in a Bible. Funny that. The manufacture lays out a game plan to get you past warranty and out of their hair. No bone soup. If you want better you have to do better. If you care not, burn the thing. If you want better your going to have to quit being afraid of the warranty. No one I ever met was denied a claim for doing better service than the manuals plan or using better products than required by that warranty.1 point

The dealership I was working with got the truck I wanted shipped to them and it happened to have the lettering inlays installed already. I wanted to keep things clean and simple so I was a little upset at first but they grew on me instantly. I love the slight contrast. They are a matte charcoal grey which I think looks fantastic on the black truck.1 point

I've spoken to a good friend who is a 30 + year tech at a North Jersey Chevrolet dealer. So far he has seen two '19 Silverados with blown oil cooler hoses. He said to look for a yellow witness stripe that becomes visible as the hose begins to squeeze out of the crimp. His dealership is looking at each Silverado that comes in for the free oil change. For the record my 9/18 5.3 Ft Wayne truck shows no sign leakage or line distortion at 6500 miles. There are green inspection stripes on my hoses as well.1 point

I agree. Keep in mind that you need to be covered fully not only from issues related to the original failure, but also from issues potentially caused by the repair of the original failure, in this case the replacement of the engine. There’s quite a bit going on there. When the guys at the dealer that mostly do oil changes don’t run a wiring harness in exactly the right place, strain an electrical connector because they didn’t notice it and forgot to unplug it, don’t torque a bolt to spec, or forget one entirely, or whatever, the resulting issues aren’t necessarily going to be limited to the powertrain, and certainly not to the narrow window of things that the powertrain warranty covers. Your new truck shouldn’t have been subject to any of this, nor should you be having to spend your time dealing with it and worrying about it. Obviously sh*t happens from time to time, but it’s their responsibility to make you feel good about it, not the other way around. You’re also doing the rest of us a service by getting everything you can. The more it costs them to resolve when the issue occurs, the more likely they are to actually preemptively fix it.1 point

if cutting them without asking the owner first is their procedure, they need to examine that procedure. Even if the rear cover doesnt fit with the storage, you always ask the customer before hacking up something they paid for. They better give you a new uncut cover or a couple free oil changes or something. Thats just idiotic.1 point
