The compressor can be controlled wirelessly from a dedicated display on the ARB Linx the I have mounted near the steering wheel. But just in case anything were to happen, I can also manually activate the compressor with a hard switch The door closes with just enough room to spare! This is my air solenoids that control my air bags. Again, this is wirelessly controlled from the dedicated display to any PSI I want Backseat removed prepping for running two air lines from the compressor to the exterior 1 air line the splits into two for the rear air bags 1 air line that will run to the rear foot step in the rear bumper for standard compressor use with a quick connect female fitting I didn't get a photo of it but there are now two air lines running through the floor just like this one. The air line from the solenoid goes to my airbags The airline with the blue/red fitting goes to the rear bumper BTW, this fusebox is the SafetyHub 150, it supports both ATC and Midi fuses! I needed both and this does it all, it's super solid and well built too! This is a female quick connect fitting for connecting any male quick connect fittings to for filling up tires, toys, whatever. This is what the dedicated display from the ARB Linx looks like. Notice all the ARB wiring in the background, I got rid of all of this and made my own harness that only included what I needed and the exact lengths! From this screen I can turn the compressor on or set my PSI for my air bags and create different settings as well (unloaded, towing trailers, hauling various loads etc) If anyone has any questions, let me know. I had a lot of fun with this project!3 points

Any vehicle that uses the low beam for DRLs, the Silverstar Ultras don't last long. They only have so much burn life to them. I tried them in a 900 series and required replacement earlier than I would've liked. They will last on the older GMT 800 series or vehicles that don't use them for DRL.2 points

I'm about to install the Chevy Performance Brembo Brake Upgrade on our Silverado. Has anyone else installed this kit? Anyone thinking about it? At first glance, it seems pretty straightforward. After reading the manual, however, I'm realizing I need to take the front wheel bearings off to access the dust shield. Other than that, it seems to be a easy rotor/caliper replacement. Big thanks to @RyanbabZ71 for recommending a great brake bleeding tool! The front set is a true six-piston caliper. The rear calipers are stock calipers painted red to match the fronts. The size increase on the front rotors is significant. I'm gathering the tools I'll need right now. Hopefully I can tear into it next week. I expect the entire process to take me at least a whole day and maybe two days depending on how it goes. Why so long? I'll be photographing and taking video of the entire process. Can't wait to share that with you all. Check back in this thread for progress updates.1 point

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my version of a custom onboard air compressor install with full custom wiring harnesses too!. There's of course many ways to do this so maybe this will help some of you if you're considering something similar. I first want to specifically thank @Limelight and @mkeddie as I've taken some of my ideas from them. I used a similar mounting location as @Limelight, and @mkeddie had a great upfitter post that gave me the perfect solution for running an air line from inside the cab to the bed of the truck in a clean fashion. So, thank you guys! I've always wanted onboard air for various reasons, but now I "needed" a solution because I just installed airbags for the first time but I didn't want a compressor that was only dedicated to the air bags, I wanted to be able to use it for whatever I want whether filling up truck tires, or mountain bike tires, or float tubes, or whatever! I opted for the ARB Twin Compressor (Part # CKMTA12) because it will give me good output and let's be honest, it looks pretty cool too! I spent quite a bit of time determining the best location, for me, to mount it. I considered just about everywhere including under the body/bed, in the engine bay, in the truck bed and finally settled on mounting it in the larger factory GM rear underseat storage. Now to decide on the wiring and general function/control that I want since it will all play together differently depending on how I wire things. I also wanted room for change and/or additions in the future so I knew I wanted a fuse box. I knew I wanted the to use a solenoid that would enable the new fuse box entirely with Accessory (ACC) power instead of having individual relays for anything connected to the fuse box. Going this route also means I need a solenoid that can handle larger loads. I found a Stinger SGP32 200amp solenoid, and the just about PERFECT place to mount it. These two bolts are almost perfectly spaced to mount the solenoid, this in is in the engine bay kind of on the inside of the front passenger fender. The tabs on the Stinger solenoid were already cut out for mounting bolts in them but I had to slightly cut them out a little deeper so that the spacing would fit the existing bolts shown above. The factory body panel bolts have permanent washers, but there was just enough play in them to slide the mounting tabs in between the bolt head and washer, PERFECT. You can see the body panel is somewhat indented at the mounting point as well, to fill that space to the bolt can be tightened down properly I just added a couple washers beneath it. Here it is wired up, 4 wires total. 1 wire to the ground lug you can see in this photo The smaller black wrapped wire is my ACC power wire to enable it that runs across the engine bay to the driver side and through a rubber nipple in the firewall to the BCM The large red power wire is fused to the secondary battery (I have dual batteries) Then there is one more wire that runs through the firewall and back to the rear seat where my fuse box is. btw: I hand wrapped these wires with tape for wire harnesses, took forever! haha This larger black wire connected to the MEGA 125A fuse (with green text) is coming from the solenoid. This spot is meant for the factory snow plow power, but I won't ever have a snow plow, so perfect use of good space! This is me prepping the power wire before connecting it to the solenoid This is the other end of the positive wire from the solenoid that went through the firewall, along the door sills, and then I cut a little bit out for the wire to come out of the rear passenger door seal to under the rear seat. Clean routing of the power wire from the solenoid to the battery Here you can see it start to come together. The purple wire is the power wire from the solenoid to my fuse box Remember this entire fuse box will be enabled by ACC power. On the top right of the fuse box you can see the main ground wire, it is grounded to the body near the factory jack. The black box on the left mounted vertically is an ARB Linx, I'm using this for control of my compressor, air bags, and future I/O expansion. This is that ground wire, I had to slightly drill out the whole that was already existing to fit the 1/0 AWG wire Here is how I'm going to connect it to the factory threaded stud that secures the jack I got the Dremel out to take the black paint off the surface of where the ground point would be.1 point

Looking at my other options, I decided to try again. Fords, Dodges, and Toyotas don't trip my trigger. The new one was built in Mexico. Maybe I'll get lucky !1 point

Where I work, we have a fair number of requirements, though we're probably a little less strict than the Air Force. Everyone gets their temperature taken on their way on site. Have to wear a mask when passing people in the hallway. One person per office. One person per truck unless everyone is wearing a mask. Have to wear a mask if working within 6 feet of anyone else.1 point

Hey man sounds good! thank you. just DM me where to send it and ill have it right out. Just please post results. that's all i ask. Good or bad.. been working on these for a long time, and i need to know how they work for all different driving styles. We tested mostly highway.. with a little city in the mix. Just confirm that the 07 throttle body is the same as the 09- 13.. i think there may be a difference.1 point

From all the posts on other forums and such it seems that the Sylvania Silverstars do not last long. My personal experience with them has been that they only lasted about a year and that's it. On two different vehicles. My truck and my daughters Cruze. Sad that they don't last any longer1 point

Yep I had a 2019 Rebel with the 12” screen. Never again. That truck had other electrical issues and I got rid of that thing as fast as I could. However I do have the black screen that started today on my Silverado.1 point

Hahaha.. nah it wasn’t that bad lol for myself the biggest thing is actually the time going into it, my labor. Yeah some of the parts were expensive but I also got very lucky with dealing with so many great company sponsorships but you know I worked on this thing for almost 4 months after work and on weekends. I did everything to it aside from the actual application of paint, the application of powder coat and the regearing of the differentials. Making custom pieces, countless hours of polishing, wiring and getting different components from different companies to work together and just bolting stuff together for final assembly just took a lot of man-hours. That was the draining part but luckily this ain’t my first rodeo. Haha1 point

[edit] oops wrong forum, below info is incorrect. I follow the 1500 and HD forums haha. Yeah 4” would be pushing it!! I have the 3/2 leveling kit running basically 35x13 on a 22x10 wheel with a minus -18 offset with no rubbing. Minor trimming of course but it’s for sure minor. These trucks fit 35’s pretty well1 point

I have been looking into adding wireless charging to a 2020 LT Trail Boss. It took a little digging and found the factory components on gmpartsdirect.com. The total cost is $108, and here are the required part #'s. #84482763 Wiring Harness (w/o rear heated seats) #84505586 Upper Trim Panel #84002462 Wireless Charging Module The only thing I'm not 100% is whether or not there would be any firmware requirements, or if it is a simple plug and play situation.1 point

https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/germany/ I found Germany's charts of great interest. Especially the very bottom one on this page from the link above. Compare it to the remaining information and you may see, if your mind is open, the point that has been the trust of my entire conversation. And what is that? Prevention of NEEDLESS DEATH. Germany had this by the throat early and still spiked 27.42% mortality rate when, and read this carefully, the health care system was overrun. This lock down thing was never about preventing death. It was about preventing NEEDLESS DEATHS. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/italy/ Italy spiked an 87.5% mortality rate early on. Yes, older population but 87.5% of that population is not and never was over 60 years of age. It took out the young with the old. Why? Healthcare system overrun. NEEDLESS DEATH. Brazil won't post their charts and are now the second only to the USA in deaths, NEEDLESS DEATH. And they did it allot faster with 1/3 the population. Pneumonia lung inflammation caused by bacterial or viral infection, in which the air sacs fill with pus and may become solid. Inflammation may affect both lungs ( double pneumonia ), one lung ( single pneumonia ), or only certain lobes ( lobar pneumonia ). COVID-19 isn't that. This virus destroys the alveoli of both lungs . You don't drown in you own pus like pneumonia, you suffocate like COPD, only allot faster. Took my father-in-law 15 years and the last week was insufferable to watch. They give you a drug so you don't thrash in panic because you can't get the bag off your head as you gasp for air flailing like a fish on a river bank. If you research death data for flue AND pneumonia over the last 10 years you will find the AVERAGE annual death rate closer to 30K not 50 or 60K. Talk about people cherry picking their data. This is well beyond the average. In fact COVID-19 has now tied 1957 in death count in the USA. 116,000 Then you can add death from flu and pneumonia. Only 1918 stands taller now kids. 675,000 is the next marker1 point

Last nights 10 pm local news. We get Chicago stations with the dish so CBS 2 reporting on a first! Double lung transplant was done at Northwestern Medical on a gal in her 20's. The interview with the attending stated she was put on a vent day one and a few days later a machine (can't recall the name) that replaces both the lungs and the heart when the lungs can not longer exchange O2/CO2. The really icky part was they showed her Thorax X-RAY and the Covid-19 damaged lungs that were in a tray. Yea, the news guy warned us is was sick stuff but they were doing it anyway to show the savagery of this disease. Kids...... I've seen buckshot look better. Cancer look better.....I've never seen anything quite like it. Blender material.... She was neither under nor over weight and in her 20's in otherwise good health. She was on the machines for SIX WEEKS until the virus cleared and a donor found. Pretty sure at my age such extraordinary measures would not have been an option. That's a pretty good hospital....1 point

Not as democratic on an Air Force installation I frequent that averages over 30 thousand people (95% non-military) on a daily basis. The lead guy/gal says you will wear masks. You don't get to argue an option, but can decide your option. If you're outside a vehicle not wearing a mask, military folks are snapped into place, non-military are directed to depart and/or denied entry onto the installation. As direct as it may be, it can change immediately with an email message.1 point

I take it they allow for stock wheels to still fit? I'm surprised they don't offer slotted and drilled rotors for the price you pay. I still have the stock pads on the front of my 2002 at 199,000 miles. Got to love the GMT800's1 point

I remember back in the day I used to tell my wife that dual glass packs and an open air cleaner saved gas. It’s true it does. It takes a long tim. And you have to keep your foot out of it. Who does that? So just admit it. You want it for the noise. My wife started reading my hot rod magazines. And put me on allowance. That was 40 years ago. Funny thing though, she has the collector car now. I don’t anymore.1 point

Thank you for your posts regarding the SeaLight LEDs. After following this thread for some time and getting the OEM fog lights installed, I had to order them and must say so far they appear to be wonderful. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner and had smaller hands to switch out those high beams.1 point
