Heated Washer Fluid

Went to use my heated washer fluid on my 07 today to clean up the bugs on the windshield. I hit the button and the flashing light comes on just like always, but after about 30 seconds the light starts to flash rapidly for another 15 seconds and the system shuts down. The wipers and washer work perfectly by themselves and I have had the in line fuse installed as per the recall about a year ago. Anybody else have this happen?

Never had that happen, but there was a recall on the heated windshield washer fluid on my 07 about a year ago.

I had mine fixed.. or so GM says it's fixed. I swear it doesn't get as hot as it use too.. but no problems with it. :jester:

Say good by to your heater if the heater is bad, the company went bankrupt last year over vehicle fire claims.

Yup, sad but true :jester:

That's why I plan to pull the parts out of wrecked GMT900s as often as I find them; hoarding working components should ensure I can keep mine going, or sell spares to people who need 'em. :nono:

So is it a good idea to maybe not use our heated washer fluid system?

I really like mine on my 09 but not enough to take the chance on burning my truck down :jester:

It`s still under warranty. Chevy should be able to fix it. I checked the fuses today and they are fine.

exactly, if its under warranty still, whether the company that made the heater is out of business or not, gm has to do something to fix the problem or give you money back as an option you paid for is not longer usable.

That`s how I look at it.

Is there a seperate switch or button to activate the heater? I do not see one on my 09 Sierra All Terrain SLT???

If you have it, it's on your center stack below the HVAC controls. Should be right next to the button that disables your rear parking assist.

However, I believe the option had already been eliminated by 09.... it was only on 07-08 trucks.

It's perfectly safe as long as you've had the fuse recall done; no reason to be scared to use it.

Don't see how it doesn't get as hot, all the recall was for was to add a 5 amp fuse in the power to the controls, the heater still gets the 60 amp fuse.
