Anyone got suggestions for wheels/tire combo for add on for this lift??????/

I don't wanna go bigger then a 33x12.50 equivalent, and I'm reconsidering getting rid of the stock wheels for new ones.

Let me hear some suggestions, preferably with pics!

Wheels are a matter of taste, not only style, but also backspacing and offset. You will need to decide what u like in that department. I will say that I like 20" wheels if your going to buy aftermarket, they dont even look big on a lifted truck honestly anything else just looks small.

As far as tires go, there are only 3 (well really only 2 for me) that I would even bother looking at. (but again that depends on what your doin with the truck).

I would look at these three. The new Nitto Trail Grapplers (not TERRAS!) http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/...ires/index.html

Aggressive mud/trail tire with probably a similar compound to that found in the terra grappler, as it has on road performance, and longevity in mind. Supposedly its a good 40k+ mile tire compound.

Next tire would be these hankooks dynapro m/t

http://www.4wheeloffroad.com/techarticles/...test/index.html

They are an aggressive, (similar pattern the the nittos) maybe a little more aggressive, and a lil more $, they are a full on mud-tire that run real good on the highways. I have read plenty of reviews of these tires lasting over 50k miles.

Next tire i would look at is the Pro-Comp xtreme A/T.

http://4wheelonline.com/ProCompXtremeAllTe...res.2518.243293

This is about as aggressive of an A/T tire that you can get. I personally ran these at a 33x12.5x20 size. I have about 30k on them and they are at half tread. They come with a 40k mile warranty, and they will lost beyond that, I am actually out of tire preservation mode and trying to wear them because I want to go with 35s or 37s. They go good off-road, great in snow, pretty good in mud (but im sure a pure M/T is better) they look really aggressive for an a/t and go great on highway, I live near pittsburgh, and work in philly so I am constantly making 300 mile trips with these things. Take em on the highway all week, then climb a muddy powerline on the weekend. cant say a bad thing about em.

Lastly there is one more tire that I am sure will be mentioned and thats the Mickey Thompson ATZ.

http://www.fourwheeler.com/techarticles/wh...test/index.html

Its in the same category as the procomp xtreme a/t. Its a tire thats in between an a/t and a full on m/t. The ATZ looks aggressive too but not as much as the Procomp, is a little better on-road where the xtreme a/t is a lil better off road.

Personally I am goin with the hankooks or the trail grapplers next.

Thanks for the info,... really appreciated! I'm going to check out these procomp xtreme tires... I want something good in the sand since my house is at the beach in NC... and something good on the highway since the job is in DC ... (400 mile trips about once amonth or two)

Now the next decision is whether to keep the stock all-terrain wheels or go aftermarket.....hmmmm

well the one thing to consider when deciding on wheels is that you can go with a wider wheel than the OEM. How are wide are the all terrains? If you are goin to run a 12.5" tire you can get away with running it on an 8" but a 9 or 10 inch wide wheel is better because the tire wont "bubble" as much. It contact patch will sit flatter on the road, thus wearing down flatter. you should be able to get a lil more mileage this way.

with all that said though I am running a 305/55/20 on a 8.5" wheel and i am still gonna get well over 40k on the procomp xtremes. You can do a chalk test on the tire when u first install then to find out what psi they like to wear the best at.

Have you had time to get any measurements done?

Just got my Mickey Thompson LT305/60/R18 put on the truck, it looks sweet!

Fit very nicely and there is no tire rub issue's at all. At full steering lock it is pretty close, but no rubbing.

I'll get some pics up asap.

What measurements do you want?

Finally, here is some pics with my 305 Mickey Thompson ATZ's on.... the back could definitely fit some 35's with this lift.

I think next I may do a 1.5' BL and throw the 35's on :puke:

Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and goes straight for the 3" body lift instead of the 1.5... :(

:( . Very true! His fenders would be glad he did with 35's.

Could you add 35's and trim the wheel wells to keep the front tires from rubbing? I want to add 35 x 13.5's, but I don't want to do a 6 inch lift. I want a 4 inch lift. I don't mind cutting the crap out of the inside of my wheel well to make it fit if needed.

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.

    • I just purchased a 2004 Tahoe with 148,******. I used to have a 2006 Suburban that had the push button Auto 4X, 2Hi, 4Hi and 4Lo. When checking out this truck I noticed it had push button but didn’t focus on it. After the purchase when driving home, this is when I noticed it was different and after a little research found out it has the AWD stabilitrak system. I don’t live in an area that requires AWD. I bought the truck to start a new adventure in life with off roading, now that the kids are all grown up. I purchased the truck knowing it didn’t have the G80 rearend but plan on re-gearing to drive on 33s or 35s and upgrade with a rear locker and still be able to tow when needed. Blah Blah Blah Anyway I know am thinking about converting the stabilitrak  to Z71. I know I will have to replace the transfer case. So now the information gathering stage is happening to see if it is worth it. Is the front AWD stabilitrak differential different when compared to a non-AWD front diff? Will I need a completely different front differential or can it be converted? What else should I be considering? I did see something in a video for GMT900 platform with removing the ABS fuse that disables the stabilitrak and turns the truck into a 2 wheel drive. Would that work in the GMT800 platform?
