Cruise Problems

I have a 88 Silverado that has an intermittent cruise problem. Sometime it will set, sometime it won't. When it does set, it may hold or drop out at any time. Currently it is in a non working mode. Is there any way I can test the components. I really would appreciate any help here. I am totally lost on this one. THANKS

i had the same problem, you need to replace your brake light switch on the brake pedal

Thanks for the quick reply. Sorry to say that I have already replaced the switch and checked all of the fuses. Just can't nail it down. Will keep looking.
