It's definitely not cheap, but is loaded to the gills. A similarly optioned Charger SRT8 runs about $55,000. I tend to be the guy(like you didn't notice) who buys the fully optioned model anyway. Had nav on my VMax and not the Callaway and it drives me nuts. I don't like going backwards. The SS is clearly aimed at competing with European performance sedans and not being a bare bones hot rod. Sure drives like one though.

It's interesting, there are only two options. A sunroof and a spare tire. With both options and the $1300 gas guzzler tax it's $47,170. I'm looking at one on the way without the spare and haggling the price. MSRP of $46,670. They tell me with limited availability there's not a lot of wiggle room. I told 'em to keep wiggling. I guess we'll see what happens.

so funny the new vette doesn't have the GG tax. Autoblog said 34 mpg on a 150 miles highway run Edited by SnakeEyes

Pretty cool. Gonna pull the trigger?

Is cool, its a classic and you know it flies. Those things are lightweights compared to now. Under 4000# probably.

Edit: stock HP and weight was 230 and 4300ish+. They ran 15 in 1/4

Now it has over 500HP.

Nah, I'll have the house paid off in 5 months if I can keep myself away from stuff like that(bought house new in 2005 and I'm 28, so I've been dedicated to it.) If I can keep myself....if I can.......if

Plus, my three car garage is full. Need to upgrade that first, right? :P

I wonder if it gets 2, or 3 MPG

Imagine with a 1st gen camaro style 2" cowl hood, raise it back up an inch or two, get repaint it with red 1 gen z/28 style stripes under the clear. 100 HP

IMO- over priced for it. if it was factory stock, then yes, but it's not. it's just a modded 24 year old truck. i would go $4-5500 for it, sell the motor, funky ass wheels, remove the crappy stickers, return it to stock and, and sell it..

I went and bought a new garbage disposal. Mine seized up and wont even drain. Just took the old one off

I think the Vette avoids the GG Tax because it has AFM?

Doubt it makes THAT much difference. Its based on actual consumption, and epa rated it at 28 I think. The old C5s got around that also in the real world.

Yesterday I put a leveling kit on my new truck and put my MB Gunner 6 wheels and bfg's on to test fit them before I get an alignment.

And today I gave it an oil change and it now has some fresh Mobil 1 oil in it and a new AC Delco filter. When I got it a few weeks ago it had a dodge filter on it that was smaller. Good thing they just did the oil change just before I got it.

No I meant because it has a fuel saving device installed to avoid the tax, not that the AFM improves the mileage enough to avoid it. I read that somewhere a few years ago, but I don't remember where. Not sure if it's even true?
