Day 1 of diagnose of "Service Air Bag" message with corresponding light:

Took to auto parts store, light not on, crap load of codes but none dealing with Air Bag....nuts!

Got home, disconnected battery, waited, then checked every connection I could think of to deal with air bag, all "looked" good.

I did note there is a metal track running under both seats with a sensor looking thing that glide over it as seat moves back and forth.

Passenger side was brand new looking but a little dusty, cleaned it up, looks good

Driver side, the metal rail is covered in surface rust and gobbed up with dust dirt and who knows what else. Cleaned it all up except rust.

Does this metal rail have anything to do with the air bag? Would the rust on the rail cause problems of any sort (air bag or otherwise)?

I will continue to try to get it scanned when the idiot light is actually on so I can capture a code, nothing I can do until then I guess.

Sounds like they don't have a "real" scanner... The one the dealer has can pull the code

How do you like it? I just bought some blackfire wet diamond, just got here today. Wanted something a little faster for the Mazda since its outside 24/7 now.

When will they make a rock chip resistant wax. Cars in the land of trucks take a beating.

Probably put a fresh coat of Meguairs ULW (been a few months) and then the blackfire.

Haven't tried it in the rain yet but the video online is amazing

The cheapo scanners there won't pull anything but the basic codes. Body codes like airbags or things like ABS, 4WD, etc can't be read by them. The under-seat thing you describe sounds like the seat position sensor. It's one of the sensors the control module uses to decide whether to fire one or both inflation charges (high or low power deployment) in a crash. I had one fail in my 2003.

They always do!

To be more specific, I got crystal seal today.

Also got three HD guzzler drying towels, a gallon of Meguiars D115 (waterless wash concentrate) collinite 845 to try out, a grit guard for my next(bigger) bucket, and some new wash mitts. Ordered a blackfire brochure, they sent 10.

Truck touched the bump stops and that was enough water. It was for my brothers challenge. He asked to borrow the Chevy.

I just ran her through an automatic car wash, I feel so guilty. :(

I had seen it right off the freeway and thought it was a diy place, oh well. Better than nothing!

Oh, I thought Jesus already grew up.

The Tahoe is sitting at least part of the weekend out. Firebird is getting kid hauling duty. Took 20 minutes to remember how to get the car seats through the roll cage and installed, so the Tahoe doesn't have to worry too much about being left out

Kinda like the mental picture of car seats strapped into something with a cage (and before someone mentions Jeeps, don't  ).

I'll get a pic next time. People get this odd look when they see it. It didn't last long, one of them decided he didn't like the noise this time. Probably because he can't watch Ninja Turtles like he can in the Tahoe. So, after the first thing we did we swapped vehicles.

On that note, does the CHARGER hellcat come with rear seat entertainment?
