I installed my new Alternator from DC Power Engineering, a fuse, and most of my 'Big Three' wiring. I'll add two more 0-gauge wires when when I get the new double-din DVD head and amp next month.

I was thinking you went with the spx line

Cleaning baby stuff out. Taking it to a nearby GMC dealer tomorrow to figure out what happened to the lights on it, front drivers DRL stopped working, the back pass side lower brake light won't light when brakes are on, both drivers side brake lights won't turn on. I installed a few new bulbs, checked the fuses, all are good.

Crap, all I did was disconnect some wiring harnesses, reconnect them, check some relays and fuses and replace the battery a few weeks ago when the electronics were going crazy(battery was dying). I noticed the lights yesterday when my wife was driving and I was following.

If this costs a lot I'm taking it as a warning sign to replace it. Which stinks because I love it.

Looks great! I need to do the big 3.

Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I also installed a Diehard Platinum to complete the chain, 850 CCA. (I believe the Diehard AGM units are manufactured by Odyssey.)

That is their 'OEM' 185a. (My stock unit was 140a max, ~ 65a at idle.) That should be enough to support a 200w amp and a few extra fog lights, a GPS unit , and A/C together without any lights dimming.

I plan to get a Pioneer AVH-4000NEX and a Pioneer PRS-D800 (125w x 2) next month. That should be a large improvement in functionality and tonal accuracy, with little more 'punch' in the bass compared to the stock 17w(?) unit. I no longer like to 'rattle the windows.' I listen to mainly jazz and classical, occasionally a little Steely Dan or Jackson Browne.

I will probably go with an Alpine nav unit next year. The Pioneers are made to work with apple products. I need to find something to work well with android. Also with the AVH unit, you can add nav later. I never did but it is an option

If I get more lights I will need to do the big 3 and bigger alternator. 2 100 watt Hellas draw pretty heavy.

What was it in the end? Sounded like a nightmare.

One filament in each of 3 different dual filament bulbs had gone out within a few uses.

Well finally did it... I actually spent some quality time & vacuumed out my truck. Also checked my driveline fluids & mechanicals. I'm starting to get a roaring type sound on deceleration & wanted to make sure it wasn't something stupid obvious, nothing yet. Could be the tires, they have 21k miles, but we'll see.
