Changed my spark plugs , AC belt and serpentine belt last night. Who decided stretch fit belts are a better option I would like to punch in the face. Also do you guys change the short plug wires at the same time or not?

Broke the key to my truck. Was not close to a dealer. So I risked putting the broken piece into the ignition and the rest of my key in as well and I was able to get the truck started so that I could at least get home where I had a spare key. Got home and turns out that the spare key I had was not to my truck but to the Impala I traded in. I gave the spare key to my truck to the dealer thinking it was for the impala. :idiot:

Drove over to the dealer, had a new key cut, but of course it needed to be programmed to the truck and for the 2011+ models (I believe it is 2011+) it requires the GM Tech II to program a new key to the vehicle when you don't have another chipped key already programmed for it available. Add to that the broken piece is stuck in the ignition switch (I spent several hours trying to pull it out with a pic set) And well, the dealer gets to handle it from here.

:banghead:

Oh well. Lesson learned. They are going to look into why the DPF is going into regen every 90-130 miles vs the 400+ I should be seeing. (It says in the owners manual I should see a regen occur for every tank of fuel) I'm guessing it has to do with the bloody DEF system like some on here have indicated. Thankfully GM extended the emissions system warranty on the Diesels because of frequent emission system issues since they started throwing on the DEF crap.

I always change the wires with the plugs.

Doesn't your truck have a tensioner for the A/C belt?

In 09 they stop using the tensioner.

What do you guys recommend for wires?

I have often wondered and never looked on the trucks without the tensioner on them.... do they still have the bolt holes for it on the bracket? If they do well I know what I would do lol.

I tired Bosch plugs in the Ex's Grand Prix once. Ended up changing them back out because it kept fouling them.

Had a misfire due to the Bosch wires so swapped out for Delco wires and NGK Iridium plugs, didn't have an issue till the day I sold the truck. I run NGK Iridium in everything I own with a motor... which isn't much [emoji23]
