Oem harness fixes all those problems lol

Sent from my PURE XL using Tapatalk

But im not going to hunt down a donor motor just to strip the harness. My time is worth something too. Plus the yards here sell engine with the harness. So why would i even put time in to, when i can just replace what is broken.

Because that junk will just keep melting. You really need to shop some yards... E fan harness isn't even part of the engine harness anyway. That and it's not that expensive new from GM.. It's the forward lighting harness.

But you are right it's cheaper to patch that... Until you come out one day to an underhood fire. I have seen two of those scab aftermarket ones light up.. In real life.. Not pictures off the internet.

Could always run 2 of them in parallel. Like running a heavier gauge wire. You could theoretically half the amperage of the fuses, so if one blows, the other will right afterward. Will definitely lessen the heat in those.

Holy buckets sounds like some of you guys have truly abysmal dealers to deal with.

After looking at the dent, and looking at the service bay at the dealer, they couldn't have done it. Too much clearance at the bay, and that ding is way too shallow. My guess is that a rock hit it. Shouldn't be any problem for the PDR guy.

I'll consider myself lucky my local dealer is competent.

Looks like a good time there - lots of nice stuff.

Yesterday a buddy of mine borrowed my trailer, and we hauled it down to CT in his '14 F-150 to pick up a supercharged Nissan Frontier for his son's birthday. I have to say, GM ain't got NOTHIN' on Ford - Ford is miles ahead of them in technology and comfort. He buys a new truck every 2 years, so reliability doesn't much matter to him. I would like to see how the Ford holds up with all that electronic gadgetry in the interior. Also has an unserviceable 6-speed, which I assume is identical to the GM unit. NOT a fan of that ONE BIT.

I got whacked in the shin by those damn automatic floorboards. If it were my truck I probably would've had knuckle marks in the rear door after that one. :fume: It's got half a billion electronics in the thing - how about proximity sensors so that doesn't happen?

Just changed the OEM 1156 reverse light on the Grand Marquis. It finally burnt out. In 4 months, we'll have owned this car 14 years - it had 68k when we got it, and was completely unmolested. I've never touched either reverse light in that entire time. There was a half inch of dust on top of the bulb when I pulled it out, lol. Just turned 236k miles. :smoker:

What is even more amazing is, the filament didn't even break!! Looks like some air got inside the glass there, and may have cause an internal failure in the "wiring" leading to the filament. Pretty impressive!

Chevor, are you doing it in the orange or some other color? My truck is silver and has a dark gray strip like the top one. I think that the bottom one is a little much but that could be me. :jester:
