Wireless Charging Part 2
DIY wireless charging.
i saw that many people had wanted to do wireless charging in your truck so i decided to make a video to share on how i did mine. hope this will help someone out on their project. it was not very hard to do and only cost about $19 it works very well and you need almost no tools. you dont even have to cut any wires no no void of warranty.
Thanks for the inspiration

Dually scaled in at 9900 with 25-35 gallons onboard. Then later topped off fuel. 151 gallons added.

Wow - you've got just about 2 tons over my little half ton.

Nope not true the loaner thing they gave me is a little truck. More like a car to me, but I'm just an angry ahole so what do I know.

Went to get a status update on my truck that the dealership has had since last Wednesday. Told the service guy I couldn't stand driving that tiny car of a 1500 and that I don't care if it's 10+ year old 2500 or 3500 I'll take it over that car. So I ended up with a Tahoe, tons and tons better feeling driving that. Shop I guess settled on what to replace this time: Injection pump, fuel filter housing, and I the "condent pipe oring" do the paper says. $1900 repair costing me $0, yep those extended warranties sure are worthless. Of course the parts are on backorder. Might just be taking my road trip in this Tahoe instead.

Nice looking Tahoe.

I started tearing into a '88 Isuzu Trooper the other day. Needs a front crank seal, so doing the timing belt and water pump while it's apart.

Thing is in MINT shape. Came from GA, and has only seen one MA winter with a knowledgeable and motivated owner that constantly hosed the salt off the undercarriage and body. My buddy owned it, and sold it to my neighbor after I set up the deal. I'm not a big foreign vehicle lover, but seeing stuff older than 21 years in excellent shape is great.

Was exactly what he was looking for. His '98 Camry has every light in the dash lit, and no communication at the data link. I thought Toyotas run forever? It still runs, but can't be driven legally in MA. Figures. Another runner that has to head to the crusher, thanks to government ... but I digress.

He's done with OBD-II and going back to basics. Since I'll be working on it, I am GLAD! Way underpowered & a little strange looking, but it does the job.

Today, I took the Silverado out for the first time in 5 weeks, went on a mini-road trip north, and grabbed another Trooper for parts. An '89 2-door. Who'd have guessed we'd find TWO Troopers in MA that weren't rusted into a pile! I haven't seen one on the road in in years, and there's only one (of this vintage) on Craigslist anywhere in New England that's driveable. This one is in excellent shape too ... at least from the body upward. Frame is rotted through in several spots. Interior is MINT! Engine looks just a few years old. 5 nice aluminum OEM wheels too. Fires up and runs with a dead miss on #2 (yanked plug wire when running, and got nothing). Excellent parts vehicle. Neighbor got it for $800 - seller needed the 3rd member & rear driveshaft for another project, and just cut his losses. It's a 2-door too - guess there were only 1,800 of those made in '89. Yeah, big deal. Ain't no '69 Chevelle, that's for sure!

Also got a supercharged '02 Nissan Frontier here for plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. Foreign-car central here this week! Sounds simple enough ... but the damn intake, coolant lines, fuel lines, and throttle body have to come off to change the plugs. Much rather be working on the Trooper. What a joke!

Some Trooper pics. First the '88:

The '89 for parts. In the first pic you can see the bent up trailer hitch from winching it. Thing was completely rotted out. Didn't notice until I had the truck winched all the way up on the trailer ... with no driveline or parking brake! :noway: I loaded it on a hill too - not where the pic was taken.

gonna replace that rusted out headlight assembly too? Those old Isusu's were not too shabby. Slower than a Geo Metro, but they could hold their own for stock 4X4 use. Sadly, Isuzu, much like Suzuki & the way Mitsubishi is headed, just could not make good quality passenger vehicles. Sure, Mitsu had some fun vehicles like the 3000GT and the 90s vintage Eclipse Turbo, but their reliability flat out sucked and their crappy sales show that as a result.

My buddy bought a Mitsubishi back in '93 - right after it hit 50k miles, the engine grenaded. They left him hanging. Weaseled their way out of the warranty, and being young & poor, he never fought it.

Actually, that headlight was what got the search for a parts vehicle going. We found one on eBay, used, for $140. My neighbor wasn't too keen on paying that for a used part, so I suggested trying to find a parts truck. I said, "If you find a good one, you'd better grab it." He found that one later on yesterday, and set up the deal for today.

The rear door with the spare tire is bashed in too - body work on that would've been well into the $1,000's, and a replacement door, if you could find one, would probably be a few hundred anyway. Plus having that quirky and difficult to access FI system on there, a parts vehicle will be a life saver. I think he did good. Lots of useable and unobtanium parts on that thing.

Spotted a hole today on my 2010.

I have always had a problem with the plate the trailer plug is mounted on. It developed rust quickly. Multiple times I added paint. Now it show a hole.

This was a bit sketchy. Had to move some 20ft siding for my parents. Only went a few miles tried to hit 88mph lol

Anyone need or want my old throttle body (from an 07 5.3). Worked great when I pulled it off. Think there are 115K Mile's on it.

Averaged 13mpg again on 91. That seems to be the norm with a mix of street and highway, and spirited use of the throttle...

A tank is lasting me 2 weeks, I'm more than happy with that.
