Whats inportant - Miles per Gallon or Smiles per Gallon?!?

Ok, many of the members are concerned about mpg. But get real - most of us are driving rigs with 4.8, 5.3, 6.0, 6.2 or 6.5.... It's a truck... It's not a Prius! I'm all about the Smiles per Gallon. I don't care about mods that increase mpg. I like the thrill and Go-Go-Go of the throttle when it's wide-open.

What's more important to you if you had a choice of mods - better mpg or more smg (performance)?

Honestly I have no need for a truck. I just love trucks. So I go with smiles per gallon in the first place.

But it doesn't mean to be careless about fuel mileage. I can have a smile in my face but still getting good numbers out of my tank.

so long

we also have no need for what we drive, i mean we could get by with a small car that seats 5, me the wife and 3 grandkids that we enjoy taking out once and awhile and a moped for her to go shopping.lol.but we like all the room in the tahoe and i just like my pick up yes smiles per gallon,, my gsxr 1000 gets 40 mpg if i really need it.

Mostly care about fun. The cost of fuel isn't what bothers me about low mpg- I fully expected to pay more than $4/gal when I got this truck (thankfully hasn't happened yet) but the biggest drawback is the crap range on the highway. I don't go below 1/4 tank ever so you're talking 300ish miles on the highway before it is time to stop for fuel. I wish we had a 36 gal tank option like the F150 has.

Both. I know Im not driving a civic, but I think I can enjoy my rig and still save on fuel. Nothing wrong with not caring about mpg, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to keep your hard earned $$ in your pocket vs big oil either.

I agree completely.

All of my mods dont help my MPG, but as long as I can keep it around 14-15, Im OK with that. I drive a truck because I have use for one, but also because I like to.

Back in 2006 I sold my 02 Silverado with the 4.3 V-6 for a bright shiny new Honda Civic Coupe that got 40 mpg. I sold the truck because gas had reached $2.00 a gallon.

Driving around in my Civic, I would see Silverados, and Sierras going down the freeway and think, they are nice, but I am getting twice the mileage they are, and I guess that kept me satisfied.

But back in the depths of my mind, I knew I didn't like the ride of the Civic, and wanted that big truck feel again. My 02 Sivlerado, being the std cab, and short bed, still drove really nice, and the dashboard didn't thump every time you hit a big bump.

Figuring that the V-8 gets not much less mileage than the V-6, I opted for the 5.3L V-8 this time and got that nice truck ride back.

I don't like the mileage, but I do love the truck. Every time I drive it, I feel like I am driving a luxurious truck, this is what I want and I don't care about the mileage. I think this will be my last truck since as much as I drive it I plan on not hitting the first 100,000 miles on it until sometime around 2022. Might be ready for a tune up then.

I added a few mods, I now get 17mpg, and it is a kick to drive :)
