Another great vehicle that will never be again, thanks to our government. :nonod:

In the 2 years I lived in Phoenix, I saw so many vehicles still on the road that I hadn't seen in decades. It was amazing.

Consider yourself lucky that you could actually keep the same vehicle your entire life, so long as you have the motivation to keep up on maintenance & make repairs as needed. Once things rust, the amount of work necessary to keep them going becomes a huge issue. It's nice not having to worry about that!

Rubber, plastic, batteries, and electric motors/generators/starters/alternators are about the only casualties of that dry heat - much better than frames, floorboards, body panels, etc, etc, etc, ... :)

That's one way to generate some extra income ... :D

No. Just wouldn't hurt to learn a new skill. That way if I hit hard times I can get my license and go work for a company

Just joking. :)

Definitely a good skill to have, especially with today's automobiles - could make a killing if you went that direction with it. If you're a licensed locksmith, you have full access to all manufacturers software, and can make keys & reflash computers so everything works again. Around here (and probably there too) you could easily pull down 6-figures a year doing it as a mobile operation.

For example ... neighbor lost his key to his '98 Toyota Camry. Mobile locksmith came, and $400 later, he had his ONE key back and was able to drive the car again. Not too shabby for a half hour's worth of "labor".

I havent decided if I am going to push forward on wafer locks yet, right now the stuff I ordered will work on padlocks and most Kwikset door locks

Local Fox channel ran a report, saying you need a CLASS A CDL to drive any truck weighing more than 1 ton.

Not kidding, said to check your truck's weight, and if it's over 1 ton, you need a CDL. I recorded it. Fake News. I'll record on my phone later and post it if I remember.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh that is friggin priceless! We've got some real rocket-scientists in media today, I'll tell ya. These are the same people that call AR-style firearms "assault weapons", so what do we expect ...

They're only 24,000 lbs. off, so maybe we should go easy on 'em ... :noway::rollin:

If you understanded how commercial enforcement worked....

Your extremely limited with a 1 ton truck without a class A CDL.

Both plated at 26,000 pounds. I can pull a rated larger trailer with my 3/4 ton then my dually legally.

Legally pull a trailer with a GVWR of 16800 pound with the 3/4 ton, and only 12800 with the dually with a registered weight of 26000.(under CDL)

That's just because the 3/4 ton is a lighter vehicle I'd imagine. Not sure if there's 2-ton difference between the 2, but you know how government works ...

Posted

Well enforcement adds GVWR of both truck and trailer together and it better be below registered weight.

Now there is a way around that by removing bed from truck. Then the go by actual truck weight, but not sure if that's still added to GVWR of trailer. There will be 10 to 15 of the trailer weight in the truck.

Just completed the Fiancé's taxes with Turbo Tax. Went to efile, and the IRS completely changed it around where now you need some AIG number from last year. Yea, I really remember what that was. What a joke.

That's why you always print and keep a record for yourself.

Don't have a printer because they're junk and I got tired of forking out money for a new one every two years. There was nothing wrong with the old system anyway.
