I got into looking at desktops now. Found this one:

It's the best value I could find for what it is. Should play the games I want pretty easily.

You can build it for less. Newegg has 480's for as low as $175 now.

I'm not really a fan of building them. I mean it looks fun, but I haven't learned enough yet to be confident in doing a build. Maybe by the end of this term of my classes I'll be good to go as I have a hardware class right now.

I don't know a whole lot about computers ... but what I do know is, I'll NEVER go back to a Microsoft product after having an iMac for the past 1.5 years.

Never knew a computer existed that didn't have constant problems! Thing has been 100% trouble free that entire time. For the past 16 years prior, I had Windows - nothing but trouble. One day the printer don't work. Next day, can't get on the internet, then, the blue screens. NEVER again!

Nice cankle!

What's wrong with Windows 10? I've been running it since before public release with very little issues. Really only had issues before release. After that it's been extremely smooth sailing.

Everything. Slow boots, and tons of driver issues since 10 deletes and replaces drivers it doesn't like. It bluescreens. My laptop has better specs than most for sale today and 10 has still managed to make it obsolete somehow. They've prioritized stupid crap like Cortana over the functionality and reliability of the OS. And like mentioned before, it's a perpetual beta test with constant updates.

Three words: Windows 7 downgrade.

Lol you don't need a class to show you how to build a computer. Everything is extremely simple now days. Somethings are even color coded while the rest just won't plug in. So it basically becomes fool proof. Plus there's a ton of YouTube guides if you need a reference as well.

Hmm, I've never had that issue with Windows 10. I've had a $6k+ custom built gaming computer, small form factor custom built computers, 3 ultra books and 1 gaming laptop and never an issue. Just had issues on my acer s7 when I upgraded it to Windows 10 pre release. Do you do any sort of maintenance on your laptop? Or lookup optimization guides for Windows 10?

Exactly! If you need any help or have questions please send me a message. I've been building computers for 15 years now and work as a Network Analyst. So I'm a little familiar with them lol.

I'd say you are lol! Thanks for the help. I might not even get anything, not sure yet. Have to wait to see how big that income tax check is. Haha!

I'd rather build AR's and bolt rifles than computers. But I don't have AR or bolt rifle monies lolol

I haven't run anything as far as optimization or maintenance. All I ever did on 7 was a defrag monthly and run full defender scans.

Haha I love guns as well. Haven't built anything yet but I'd like to build a 1911 and AR this year. Probably have to put it off until next year. However I do get to pick up my new Liberty Safe this weekend!

Look into it and you should also do a fresh OS install after purchasing a pre-built laptop or desktop. Now days they are filled with so much bloat ware and it keeps getting worse.

If you're a student and are not claimed by anyone then you are eligible for a $2,500 refund for being in school full time. There's a couple other things as well.

I did a fresh install with 7, a while after I got the computer. I haven't changed anything with 10. Just been slowly shutting off things. No matter how optimized 10 is, it won't change the fact that audio no longer works through my HDMI, and only 1 of my USB ports is functional. I've tried installing dell's approved drivers, and they get overwritten every time.

I was planning on building a mid tower, but I ended up building a gun instead because of my current tech frustrations, haha.

Haha! I'm actually thinking of buying an AR15 instead. I've been wanting one for years now and just haven't gotten one.

I'm not sure if I'd get that or not because I'm not paying for it. I'm going to school under the trade act because I lost my job.
