someone in an f150 almost took out a malibu, got it on dash cam. Also have a pedestrian getting killed last year(dont see the impact happen, just see the brake lights and swerve, and then I drive up to the body), and a GMT800 sierra transmission exploding on the highway. I'm going to have quite the collection, and I'm not even in Russia!

It absolutely does not say anywhere when or even if you can actually buy a meal. It say one company will hand out some samples while supplies last. some articles make it sound like your only option for getting want you want is to be a judge, and otherwise there is no point in going. found a few pictures of tables covered in tarps and plastic with some meat on it. That makes it sound like its a useless event for the public or they have really bad PR, some of the pictures look like some contestants aren't even trying to sell anything. Maybe I'm completely misunderstanding the point, all it says is they should have already had concessions listed. I've already been disappointed by KC bbq once(Arthur Bryants nearest the speedway, ribs were dry, bland, and meatless)

 

What I'm getting is "come any enjoy the famous BBQ festival and, not eat BBQ unless you are a judge, so you can do something,( while judges eat food), you pay admission for, uh, well we will have something there. (but not on Friday if you aren't invited)" This seems like a massive missed opportunity, I was hoping basically 180 pop up restaurant tents would be out there selling food. I guess the town couldn't handle the tourism that could bring? I mean, we are the fattest country in the world, aren't we?

Never been. In my opinion, you'd be best off just going into KC and going to pretty much any BBQ place. Jack Stack, Gates, and Joe's all are usually pleasers. I'll be living closer to KC soon and can probably offer more suggestions then.

 

I was thinking earlier: with all the safety nonsense in cars these days, why isn't a fire extinguisher a required item? I carry one in my toolbox, one of those "just in case" things inspired by all the char marks I see on the side of the road.

I just got prescribed an RX that has really bad interactions with a different RX re-prescribed last week(same office, reviewing my case again) they didn't tell me to stop the other(or a third I also take rarely, but that has the same bad interaction). Just a reminder to double check your doctors instructions. Seriously, we are talking a coma or death from just two combined, depending on how the individual body responds. Risks so bad drugs.com even says "not worth the risk" of combining.

With all the crap prescribed today, it's inevitable that this will happen more and more.

 

My 2 elderly neighbors are each on 30 different pills EVERY DAY! Insanity ...

 

If I didn't know any better I'd think they were trying to kill them, or use them as test mules.

 

I've been pumped full of this crap since birth, and have lived with the side effects my entire life. Ruined my childhood, basically, and I'd bet everything I have that is the reason I don't have any kids. The doctors preyed on my mom's fears. I've had more needles shot into me than any street junky - I'd bet on it.

 

Questionable as to whether that was an acceptable trade off to the initial problems ...

Baled hay for the first time today. Went after my regular work to help out my brother in laws family. Spent 7 hours in the tractor. Much respect for them doing that day in and day out, I left after finishing baling and they still had to wrap the bales into larger bales and load them on the trailer, so only halfway done by the time I left

That's an occupation few from MA understand. I had never even seen that done my entire life, until I moved to my current town 14 years ago.

 

Should be about time for 1st cut ... if it ever stops raining around here. We've traded weather patterns with Seattle it seems ...

They've done first cut on a good bit of the fields they bale already. The rain and sun have been good to them this year, should be a lot of bales and relatively profitable

It's your truck you shouldn't be afraid to use it if you break it fix it and go on. If you can't afford to fix it sorry folks, you're doing it all wrong.

Then why borrow money they don't have to mod a truck they can't afford anyway? Although the economy is in excellent form currently some friends in the asset recovery business tell me business is "brisk".

I'm just cheap and indecisive. Now that it's out of warranty when something breaks I'll change it to what I want. Just because I can afford to replace the entire truck doesn't mean I'm going to do it. There are better things I can waste my money on.

Ugh. rough week. One boy sick, and a few days later the other was leaning on a long block, which was leaning on a rail and another kid at daycare flipped it up and sent my boy onto the floor/, about 4-5 foot fall, breaking his arm. And we have a waterpark vacation next week. Luckily we got a waterproof cast

Mods? What mods? I needed my truck to tow a trailer full of work materials. What good does it do to "mod" my truck out and break the warranty when I'm doing the best I can to make the $700 a month payment on it! I don't have extra $$$ to throw away on mods and while it was under warranty, I wanted that reassurance that if something went wrong, the service department at the dealership would take care of it under warranty.

Pretty sure these are older than me. Michelin one (right) is made in Italy. The Sears one is made in Japan. Seen these before but always interesting to "find" them again. Too bad they don't have dates on them, unless S.53 means 1953 abbreviated in Italian? Since they were back in the states by the early 70s I'd say that's the newest it could be.
