So I work near a body shop thats kinda hidden away. And I see a LOT of new cars from a local dealer(A steady stream, a few every week) that show up for body work. Thing is, when you look at their inventory, they rarely have used cars with a handful of miles). I commonly see them taking off body panels to do the repair.

 

 

So, how common do you think this is? They take a little damage, maybe some dents or scuffs, the dealer has them fixed and still sells them as perfect new cars.

Just got home last night from our road trip to southern Texas and back. We went to a lot of places while there, but I made sure to stop by Gas Monkey Garage and the Bar N' Grill as well.

That's been common practice for years. Cars used to get pelted by rocks by kids hanging out along the railroad tracks, before they completely encased the automotive transport rail cars with steel panels. Used to only be side panels in the 80's, and kids would drop rocks off bridges or cliffs, or lob them in the air over the side. Hoods, windshields, side glass, rear windows, roofs, trunk lids, mirrors, doors - all bashed in. All those smashed cars would get repaired at the dealer, and the new owners never knew what had happened.

 

When I brought my Silverado in during one of the MANY warranty repairs that were made, the lot tech smashed my truck from bumper to bumper along the entire passenger side. Truck didn't even have 5k miles on it then. It's since been repaired 2 more times on that side. Once due to my screwup, and another due to a jackass who took it personally when I passed him, and tried sideswiping me, and keyed my side as I passed. Guy was 67 years old too. Welcome to MA!

So my kids were in second day of pre k. Come home and tells that he was hit at school, but the 2 teachers for 18 kids ignored him telling them because they were too busy teaching the kids. My boys are the biggest kids in the class(tower over most of them), so I better not get a call when they defend themselves. Great sign isn't it? On the first day I hear a teacher talk about how there is nothing to worry about, class sizes are small at that school.

I was cruising around downtown checking out the traffic for the upcoming eclipse.

 

As I was making a turn, I noticed a striking blonde making more than a passing glance at my clean Silverado.

Tired of my hillbilly neighbors screwing up my sleep(I work at night) they slam doors, yell, chase their cat around the yard..and their old beat down dodge sounds like a weed whacker and a garbage disposal duking it out in a chest freezer Everytime it's started..im a sound sleeper, but these dirtbags sure know how to trump that

Bought a Wagner Flexio 590 at 12:30. Returned it at 5:30. "Low overspray" equals mask a minimum of 24 inches of adjacent wall. Ceiling? 24 inches isn't enough, it doesn't seem to have enough power to get everything there, waaay to much was getting to the floor plastic. And my wifes hair

Started bidding on what I thought was a 97 z28 until I ran the VIN. It is an SS. Downside is it has an auto and doesn't start. Body is straight and needs interior work. Ends on Tuesday and it is at $435. I probably won't go past $1000 for it.

That's a bargain ... for a '81 Olds Omega! I'd be all over that one. I never see anything worthwhile for under $4k lately.
