It's a neat idea. Does it make the tailgate close slower too? Having to push on it harder would be annoying.

Yeah your right, anyone with 1 of those is not a man. Guess GM will have to redesign 2014 new trucks because they will have that as a built in standard feature.

Do you geel unlike a man because you have an "easy lift" tailgate? That has been standard for years.

Going to buy one that's a good idea. I would like to see GM put a step and foldable hand rail on the tail gate like the Ford's.

I have one. Goes well with the nerve damage and torn crap in my shoulder that used to cause me to drop the tail gate once in awhile.

I have one because my 3 yr old son can and has dropped my tailgate and I dont need it hurting him

I could also see this as a tailgate saver if you ever managed not to get it closed well it slammed down while moving. Thinking seriously about this mod. My 07 Tundra (yeah I know ) had it standard.
