Hey Guys, Figured I'd post this here too.

I have 4 brand new never mounted still have stickers on the tires Goodyear Duratracs. These tires are 325/60/20 and are "35 tires. I had planned on using this on my next setup but decided I want to do 38" tires.
So the cost me $1960. I know I cant get that back so I think 1400 is more than fare. That over $500 dollars off brand new tires.
I live in Greenville/Simpsonville South Carolina and will drive a hour to meet up or you can come get them. Best time to contact is mornings. feel free to text. Text 864-360-one nine 8 five

I do have them posted in the ForSale forum.

You'll need to provide a lot more information than that, too many variables.

hell no. Unless you mean by cutting the fenders you'll remove them

Jnach, have you went with a larger tire yet? I am debating on doing the zone and stuffing 35" dia tire in there. Hoping to see what the truck looks like with meatier tires and the stock chrome wheels like you have.

No I haven't yet but I'm planning on a a Toyo soon :)

Hey guys, So I am going to be lifting my 2016 Silverado 1500 5.3L LTZ Z71 with a Zone 4.5'' lift within the next week or so. I am wanting to fit as much tire under it as possible. I see Zone's website says I can fit 33x12.5x18 with my stock rims, but I was hoping to fit 35's. It says I have to have a 20x9 wheel with 5.75 backspace in order to fit 35x12.5x20.

I have a few questions & concerns. I received multiple quotes and most are ranging around 2400-2500 with Lift + Fox 2.0 Rear Shocks + Alignment + Labor. I've seen this is on the highend as far as labor goes, but I don't think I have many options since I want it done correctly by professionals. I'm also thinking I will get the lift first and see how small my 265x65x18's look under it to see if I actually want 33's or 35's.

Next is gearing. Should I regear if I put 33's or 35's under the 4.5'' Lift? I know nothing about regearing except the little bit that I have read through these forums. I have also gone through all 213 pages of the suspension lift topic. I also will not be doing much offroading outside of hauling bicycles down some dirt roads to trails.

It just seems like a whole lot more money involved when lifting and wanting bigger tires that I had assumed. I've seen some people fit 35's under a 4.5'' Zone Lift with minor rubbing that they ziptied or small trim, I'm just stuck going back and forth in my head trying to justify all of this.

Any input or help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks guys!! I cross posted to my own topic just in case.

Can't speak for the Zone 4.5" pricing, but that price is about what I paid for my 6" BDS lift on my Denali.

As far as re-gearing, I wouldn't worry too much about it. I have 35's (and a 5.3 with the 8 speed tm & 3.42's) and power is fine in my eyes. I also did intake, exhaust & a tune to compensate.

I have a 5.3L , but have no idea what gear combo. It's a stock 2016 1500 Z71 LTZ 5.3L. I really wish I could get $1700 or even $2000 out the door. I live around St Louis, MO and apparently all the shops love to get paid.

I also live in STl. I will be interested to see what/who you actually find to do it for a reasonable offer. Do you know any reputable local muffler shops? Looking to get that done as well.

Nice! I'll keep you posted as far as suspension lift quotes. I had my dealership put on the Borla Cat Back Exhaust for me, and they actually only charged like 1 hour for labor. I'll ask a few of my buddies to see if they have any recommendations.

What dealer? I bought from and use Dave Sinclair GMC. I have yet to get a quote from them but will shortly when I take my truck in for maintenance.

    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
