Yeah its not the fastest but I came from an 09 manual gt and I still feel like this is a bit quicker. Really want to go to 3.73s or 4.10s but want to find a setup that isn't whiny/noisy. Y'all know of any?

I personally like Richmond... I have set 100's of them up with ZERO issues.

Here's my mileage for the year. Calculated at every fillup. No cherry picking 5 mile down hill coasting.

With the exception of the initial tank of 87 and two tanks of 87 when I had to fillup with out corn juice nearby, every tank has been E85.

Wow, dipping down into the 10's. Mines still pretty new (2014 dbl cab, 4wd, 3.08). First 4 tanks of 87 I averaged 15.5. My last 4 tanks of E85 I've averaged 13.6.

Gathered this info when I was looking to trade in my 2005 for a 2014 and noticed most on the lots had 3.08's. My 2005 w/ 3.42's always felt strong pulling my ~4000lb 18.5' boat so I wanted to make sure I was getting something I felt was going to be similar. The 6 speed with 3.08 gears of my 2014 is better in every gear vs the 4 speed with 3.42 gears that was in my 2005. I added larger tires on both so you can see the real ratio with those.

6 speed (265/70R17, 31.6")

1st: 4.03 x 3.08 = 12.41

2nd: 2.36 x 3.08 = 7.27

3rd: 1.53 x 3.08 = 4.71

4th: 1.15 x 3.08 = 3.54

5th: .85 x 3.08 = 2.62

6th: .67 x 3.08 = 2.06

6 speed (285/70R17, 32.7")

1st: 4.03 x 2.98 = 12.00

2nd: 2.36 x 2.98 = 7.032

3rd: 1.53 x 2.98 = 4.559

4th: 1.15 x 2.98 = 3.427

5th: .85 x 2.98 = 2.533

6th: .67 x 2.98 = 1.996

4 speed (265/70R17, 31.6")

1st: 3.06 x 3.42 = 10.465

2nd: 1.75 x 3.42 = 5.985

3rd: 1.00 x 3.42 = 3.42

4th: .70 x 3.42 = 2.394

4 speed (285/70R17, 32.7")

1st: 3.06 x 3.3 = 10.098

2nd: 1.75 x 3.3 = 5.775

3rd: 1.00 x 3.3 = 3.3

4th: .70 x 3.3 = 2.31

Pretty interesting data to me.

18.3 average over 28k miles January 2014 to January 2015. I have some tanks where the average is very good and then when I hook up my enclosed trailer/do a lot of off roading and idling on the farm the average goes way down. If I were using this full size 4x4 truck simply as a car I think that 21 average would be very easily attainable.

If I was using mine as just a car, pretty sure mine would be in the 23-24 MPG average range on summer blend. Some tanks it is.

My best tank MPG so far was 26.3 MPG, my worst was 17 MPG last winter.

I still have one of my old trucks in the barn that gets used for the odd jobs and some of the dirty work on the property. She's 22 and I just can't get rid of the old girl. Even though others have come and gone. Don't tell anyone, but it's a Furd.

5.3 4x4 3.42 with small lift and 34" tires, pretty happy with 20mpg overall for the first 37K miles. The OnStar app says 21, but it rounds up; the actual number is 20 point something, and the truck computer is a bit high (measured mileage at the pump is about 1/2 mpg lower than the truck says), so 20 is realistic. For those wondering about the displayed recommended tire pressures, that's what I had the dealer program in to the truck's BCM during one of the software upgrades. I picked low numbers so I wouldn't get nuisance lights during the winter when the tire pressure naturally drops. I actually run the pressures shown with an empty bed, load range E Toyo all-terrains.

Did a trip from Columbus Ohio to the Chicago west suburbs earlier this week. Between Columbus and Indy, I got around 17-18 mpg, but there was a pretty decent crosswind.

Got some pretty good mileage between Indy and home driving between 70-75mph,. using 89 octane from a Shell Station on the east side of Indy. I was impressed, I might have been able to get close to 500 miles on the tank if I had to keep going at that rate. Not bad for winter gas, and about 20-25 degrees outside, plus I was hauling about 300 lbs of extra weight in the back of work stuff. Not to mention i had TONS of ice and snow frozen to my truck from my driving through winter storm Juno on my way to Columbus a few days before, so I wasn't as aerodynamic as normal.

Also I have AFM turned off via Blackbear tune. So the truck was in V8 mode the entire time. Also happy to report my new Corsa muffler was not annoying at all at highway speeds, sounds perfect.

These were taken about 10 miles from home. My 400 mile best actually went up to 19.2 by the time I was home. Forgot to snap a pic.

You guys are getting some great fuel economy. For you guys with 15-30k on the trucks did it start out that good or slowly increase as you put more miles on the truck?

Hard to say. I haven't taken many road trips in my truck. Most of my driving is around town. But generally i get 16-17 around town. and 20-22 on the highway.

    • The LCA bolts are NOT a one time use fastener.  GM does not have them called out as such at all.   They are torque plus degree, but not a one time use TTY.  Nowhere in the service manual does it call out for replacing the LCA bolts for being one time use.  Think about it.  The LCA bolts are now the alignment adjustment point, instead of the UCA bolts like the prior generation.    A bolt that is meant to be adjusted for alignment...would it make sense to make it a one time use component?  How would you get an alignment done in the first place?  You couldn't.       Also.  What TSB exactly?  There is no TSB that I see for 2019-2026 for over-torquing LCA bolts.  There was a PI, PIT5533C, but that covered 2014-2018 body trucks for re-torquing LCA mounting bolts.  But those trucks to a 2019-2026?  Not the same, so PIT5533C does not apply.
    • Nice looking setup!  Is this the kit you got?  If so 211 is a great deal!  https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/trailering-camera-system-86584184   My TT came with a wireless rear camera but it only works on an app or a separate screen they sell so I've decide it's not worth the hassle since it keeps disconnecting and with wireless android auto it's a hassle trying to connect my phone to it.  So I've been thinking about adding the GM camera so it's integrated into the rest of the camera views.   I also found this one which seems to be a different PN & retail price that explicitly states the invisible trailer view https://www.shopchevyparts.com/chevrolet/2024/silverado-2500-hd/electronics/85825715-silverado-2500-trailer-camera-transparent-view-requires-trg-camera-provisions-p-92326971.html?sort=2a
    • You didn't say what year it is. I have a '17 5.3 6l80e & used the Range AFM delete for a while to stay in V8 mode. Then I got a local tuner to preform a HPTune on my 6l80e & love it. He did a AFM delete, torque matching between engine & transmission, removed converter slip and mild engine tune that helps the transmission. Gears shift better, at specific speeds, no hunting for gear, no 2 gear down shifts, no spark plug miss feel. Drives like a different truck. I highly recommend it.
    • I know this old thread but I just replaced the left side engine mount on my 2018 5.3 2wd and it was a pain. A quick search showed that it was probably going to cost around $600 to $900 to get it replaced. I researched how to replace it and decided to do it myself being that I'm retired and have the time and tools. What should have taken a day took me 4 days plus a couple trips to my chiropractor and some blood. Why a mount failed at 150k miles is beyond me but such is life.   Peace
