Yeah me too they remind me of a cement truck tire. The new x3's like mine are actually MT's not AT's but IMO they are kind of right inbetween the two which is why I like them. The x3 is supposed to out perform the old Grabber in every way tho.

When I first read up on the old gen tires on a jeep forum The old ones had problems with rain because the square design gave the water no where to escape.

Yeah I could definitely see that for sure. I never read reviews on them but I don't see how they'd be very good in the deep sticky mud either.

Well half the people in the world with big trucks don't off road, for example here's my sisters boyfriends truck. Will never see mud lol bf1eae6485a84259273e39d60f456e18.jpg

Yeah I also saw the reviews regarding rain issue which was a reason I didn't get them since we get lots of rain in norcal

Yeah that is very true. I must admit that my truck won't see any real deep mud and I have MT's so I guess I kind of fit into that category lol. But like I said originally I was looking for AT's and for the price difference to the X3 with red letters, it was a no brainer. I had 35x12.5 Duratracs on my 03 with 9" of lift and I loved them. Cool looking tire and performed well. That truck I did take into anything because she had a little rust on the rockers and I didnt feel so bad lol but anyways, regardless of what people are actually going to do with a set of tires, the tire manufacturer still has to keep in mind that if they market an MT tire, at least a fraction of buyers will actually use it for what it was intended and if you make a junk tire, the word will spread. Not good.

Well I might get the chance to test out the x3's in the rain Today. If so I'll chime in with any good or bad.

Not the x3s the old ones. The x3 have small slits to help with water

This is with a 2" Monofab kit, Moto Metal Razors 20x10" with Nitto Grappler G2's LT305/55/20's,65,000 Mile warranty, and no road noise approximately $300.00 per tire. Fender flares. The wheels have an offset that pushed them out almost 2" which is what I wanted. They do have some rubbing issues, may add the 1/2" spacer to the top of the strut. I love the way it looks now, not quite level, but everyone comments on how much they love the way the truck looks. You could get the 20x9" wheels, with 305x50x20's and probably have no issues, or even the wider wheels with the 50 series too

With just the leveling kit you can safely run and clear 33s. But regardless good pickup

That's what I have 33/12.50r20 no rub (as long as it's 4x4) 2x4 needs to get "sculpted" with a hammer lol

Question...

I've got a 2014 Z71 that I just purchased at "Ready Lift - 2.25" Leveling Kit."

Seems pretty self explanatory on the install, but I'm just curious about the "2.25"

Looking at the round spacers, they are only about an inch thick. And the little "C" shaped spacers that go on the bottom are only about 1/4".

Where are they getting 2.25"?

Thanks in advance.

For those of you that have already installed a leveling kit...Which did you go with and why?Do the new aluminum suspension parts impact the install?I hope to get one on my truck in the next couple weeks but want some insights first.

I went with the Rancho 2 inch Quick Lift Struts

That would be great - everyone here does the 3.5 on stock wheels

I haven't seen anyone run 35's with a 2.5 level, much less a 2". If you find someone running them with that, please report back. Even stuffing 34's in there is really pushing it.

    • I find it amusing the OP doesn’t realize this threads heading includes several engines. He should have posted in the off topic section if he wanted a more narrow focus. I really appreciate and find amusing that he actually pointed out one of my many vehicles. The Odyssey. That happens to use 0-20 oil. I love pushing his buttons.
    • Maybe, but it seems he is the only one that has backed up data to prove what he is stating. I think he is doing this more because he enjoys it and wants to get the information out to us. He's got the knowledge and access to the proper equipment and having the funds doesn't hurt.  I would love to do what he is doing and would do it if and when I hit the Powerball.  I'm not a Tribologist by any means but love to learn what I can.   I would bet there would be doubting people out there if a completely independent lab with high quality work and highly respected in the automotive industry, put out information like this.  The world can't be pleased, one just has to take the information that they are given, do more of their own research to find actual lab data to back up what they are trying to figure/find out.  Most don't bother, they just want to believe what they first see.     I don't have the minimax but my 6.2 in my 2019 Silverado with 64k miles shows excellent UOA results with 0w-20 and for my own purposes 5w-20.  Since not much of a change using 5w. I liked the data sheet information on the SS 5w-20 and figured I would give it a try.  Still the same viscosity at 100℃.   In the end we all just do what makes us happy, life is too short to get upset over trivial social media.   On a side note, I do feel GM has dropped the ball and just cares about the bottom dollar and not quality anymore.  "Like a Rock" has been long gone.  Seems "Built Ford Tough" has as well.
    • Better than stock but that's like putting lipstick on a pig
    • Hello, my 3 month old Sierra Elevation wont recognize a trailer with electric brakes? All the lights work correctly, but no power to the brakes?   This is the factory installed brake controller. If you manually push the knob, the display shows the power % but does not light up like my 2022 silverado.   I have an appointment with the dealer, but was checking to see if anyone else has seen this issue.    Thanks,
    • Been using SS 0w-20 from new, but wanted to change to the 5w-20 because I liked the data on the data sheet, to me it seems like a little better product. But as you can see, not much difference. This is also with running a mix of 10 gallons E85 to a tank topped with 93. It isn't a flex fuel vehicle so any higher I get a CEL for running lean on both banks. Yes my mileage takes a hit. Instead of 20 mpg I normally get on trips I get 17mpg. This is also using EaO17 filter.  What is amazing is I have the AMSOIL cone filter on it since I have the GM Performance intake installed and that air filter has 44k miles on it.  I just take it out and shop vac it off once a year.  I use the upholstery tool on my shop vac.  Works well.
