with bluetooth streaming off the sd card in my android it seems to switch songs very quickly. With my ipod plugged in via usb it takes a delay. My opinion is that it's because the ipod is indexed with gracenote for song recognition, so it takes longer to go through the index where the bluetooth bypasses all that without indexing it all and is much faster. IMO

Guys I keep trying to do this & it doesn't work. It'll work via Bluetooth for a second and then cut out. Also- I have another app for a local radio station so I can listen to it when I'm too far to get regular fm reception (which blows in general on these truck btw) and if I launch the app on my phone, switch media to my phone on the intellink, it'll work for a couple seconds the cut out also. It does work if I plug through aux, but it should work seamlessly w/ bluetooth.

Then I had the phone plugged in via USB & was watching a YouTube video and the screen blanked out and showed a status that said something like "video displayed on tv" & the sound began going through the truck radio and when I removed it from USB it continued streaming audio via Bluetooth and then the video came on Again on the phone display.

So this leads me to believe that video should work on the nav screen somehow just need to bypass something

Did you ever get this to work correrctly? I had a similar issue but it was because i had my background data restricted in my phones settings. Once i turned the background data on for Pandora it worked flawless.

Contacted GMC Live Chat today. Nothing positive to report.

Mike:
Hello and welcome to GMC Infotainment Customer Support! How may I help you today?
Customer:
I purchased a 2014 GMC Sierra SLT in June 2013. My question: Have there been any Intellilink system updates yet?
Mike:
Unfortunately there are not updates available at the moment.
Customer:
Second question: Have any additional apps been released for Intellilink? The truck comes with weather, onstar, pandora, etc.. from the factory, however Intellilink literature has said down the road more apps would be available.
Mike:
There are no new apps available at this time.

Well, I am the Proud new owner of a $50K vehicle. I'm proud and boasting my chest enough, its tough to actually get on here and add to this thread.

I purchased the new 2014 Sierra w/ the All-Terrain Package just after Thanksgiving. The first thing I did when I got home was spent 4 hours reading and re-reading the manuals.

I was so excited with the equipped features, I couldn't wait to jump into them.

And so begins the nightmare.

I own an iPod Classic. I plugged the USB in the the port in the interior console. It didn't work. At all. Didn't Charge. Didn't see it in the Intellilink system. I called the dealership and they asked I bring it in for them to investigate the "Minor" issue. While the Dealership has been great, GMC has not trained them or anyone else for that matter in the new systems. In the dealerships words, they had to learn as they go.

Come to find out, the Wiring Harness to the USB / SD Card Ports in the console was crushed. Supposedly at the factory. Which was what I believed to be the problem. I guess they don't have a QC dept. The only fix was to completely remove the center console to rerun the new harness. That's great. Rip out all the brand new interior. Love the idea. With that fixed they called me back and said it's done. ( FYI: it took 2 weeks for them to get the part ... 2 weeks I didn't have my Brand new vehicle. )

I jump in and drive it home. It's a day or so later that I really started noticing other "Issues"

1 - my iPod Classic 160 GB cuts off after 1-5 songs. When I say it cuts off. I mean it causes the iPod to freeze up / lock up and I need to reset it to get it working again. Now the first thought here is it's probably the iPod's firmware or something. So I rolled back the firmware version and re installed all my music to the iPod. Still no fix. I called the dealership and they wanted to see it. Of course. - They took a look and said the iPod firmware needed to be updated. So I updated it back to the version that was on it. And tried again. Still Locks-Up and I just gave up. The dealership did let me know one more piece of advice with the iPod Classic 160GB. The iPod classic isn't supported. WELL i quickly told them to open their infotainment manual and there it was listed in black lettering my iPod. Then they told me the system can't handle more than 10K songs. I quickly let them know the manual stats 100K songs. Their response was that the 100K songs was with 2 units plugged in at the same time. Wait... So one unit can be limited to 10,000 songs, but with 2 the limit isn't 10K or even 20K, it's 100,000 songs??? Who did the math???? Still, this is BS. Why claim it works and it doesn't.

2 - The All-Terrain Package comes with the Bose Sound System. My speakers say BOSE on them. I thought when you got the Bose system, you get the Bose sound system features as well. Well according to the dealership, you only get the Bose features with the upgraded system. BTW, go on GMC.com There is only one Bose system listed. So, in my confusion, I just let it go assuming the dealership KNOWs their product. I believe they are incorrect. After much searching and investigation, even GMC.com's Live tech Chat personnel agree with me I should have the BOSE features in the intellilink system. The dealership did confirm the that features are not there. So, the dealership doesn't know what features come with what, the tech line said they can't force the dealership to fix the problem and said I should get a second opinion from another dealership. Wait... WHAT??? So I am supposed to have features and you can't MAKE the dealership fix them? WTH!

3 - Umm... where is the texting feature in the stereo that my Manual talked about??? Did you guys read the manual and read that you can Bluetooth text thru your phone from the intellilink system? My manual says I can. But the feature isn't in the system. Where did it go? Why is it gone? And if it shouldn't be there why is it in the manual?

4 - Who loves the Hands free Bluetooth operation of their phone while driving? I DO!! I really love it even more when the phone loses its Bluetooth connection with the phone randomly! How cool is that!. The phone is still connected to the person I was talking too... but the intellilink system must not like them. Kind of a lame feature.

5 - Did anyone notice the Key FOB's aren't labeled? YEA, that took awhile for me to realize that the "return to seat position" feature for the 10 Way Seat adjustment wasn't going to my Seat position because I wasn't using the right key-FOB. Someone could have explained that one... or even the damn Manual could have. A 6'4" person eating the steering wheel is probably pretty comical to some people watching me get into my truck.

6 - Why do I need to select the phone option on the screen and then select the contacts option to load my contacts into the system every time I use my phone in the truck. Hit the VOICE Activation button on the steering wheel. Say a command. Call Wife on Mobile. Say again please. Call Wife on Mobile. I'm sorry Say again please. Call wife on Mobile. I didn't quite get that. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH DIE WOMAN! I look at the contacts and why haven't the contacts loaded????

7 - And speaking of the Voice Recognition system.. is the a microphone picking up my voice? I really really really want to beat the "Say a Command" voice in the face. I say something and it asks me if I want a space shuttle ride to the Moon. It's clueless and doesn't work.

Honestly, I want to let this truck catch on fire and get a new one. Maybe one 75% built in America like a Toyota instead of a 30% built in America truck like a GMC. Ohh, You know I don't even need to light it on fire. If I let it idle long enough, according to the recall notice I got, it'll catch on fire by ITSELF!!!!! junk junk junk junk JUNK. GMC can't buy my love and as long as I have a worthless pile of Government Motor's junk that hasn't been fixed by someone who has half a clue, I will continue to recommend Fiat over GMC. They probably go thru gravel better than a GM.

Very disappointed. If anyone has any tips. Let me know. PS:My Intellilink Software Version is 23203140. Whats everyone else running????

I not real sure what you're getting at Cherokee. I have a brand new $50,000.00 vehicle that has a lot of problems. I'm not sure that's trolling. Just thought I would let everyone else know there are problems with the vehicle. And see if anyone knows of any fixes. I'm stuck with it at this point. Unless you just feel like me joining in the conversation, which is all about people owning this vehicle and it's problems is a problem. Or you don't understand the definition of Trolling. I'm not starting an argument. I'm agreeing with everyone and bringing more issues to light. If you having absolutely nothing to offer of actual value try looking up "What is Trolling" on Google.com. Although, maybe you think trolling means baiting a fish to follow the lure along.

that's one hell of a first post. I can confirm that my 80gb iPod classic does indeed work with my Sierra. Bluetooth drops occasionally but it's nothing to go postal over...

What I am getting at is this, your first post you complain about a lot of stuff, call your truck junk, and how Toyota is better, you also post stuff that is supposedly in your manual but unless you have some secret manual there is no mention of 10,000 songs in it (does mention 4,000 will work fine and 4,000-8,000 will work but limited on features) Also I do not see mention of an iPod classic being in the manual, which isn't a supported device (doesn't mean it will not work at all but it's not supported for all functions) what Bose function are you trying to use? Bose audio pilot? Says if equipped, if you don't have the uplevel it's not equipped. Just because it is in a manual doesn't mean you have it, thats why it says "If Equipped"

BTW no one cares how much money you spent on your truck, stating you paid $50,000 for a truck just tells everyone you paid too much

Actually the iPod classic does work... Mine did.. Until it died shortly after buying the truck(I've had it forever)... Also, in the Intellilink manual it does indeed say it can handle up to 100,000 songs..

I don't have the book handy, but it's there! I was actually initially told by Gm customer service about that. She read it to me haha. It was when I was trying to figure out what SD cars and USB sticks worth with it

Thanks BringTheRain403.

Cherokee, You are very correct. I am complaining about a lot of stuff. A lot of stuff doesn't work. And you are also correct about the price. I over paid. Who cares? The topic is the fact I spent money on something that doesn't work. And you bring up trolling. Which is exactly what you are doing. Being an irritation for the enjoyment of it.

So I'll answer your questions and supply you with MAGICAL manual page numbers since you've been so enlightening.

1) You said "you also post stuff that is supposedly in your manual but unless you have some secret manual there is no mention of 10,000 songs in it (does mention 4,000 will work fine and 4,000-8,000 will work but limited on features) Also I do not see mention of an iPod classic being in the manual, which isn't a supported device (doesn't mean it will not work at all but it's not supported for all functions)"

I have page numbers from the 2014 Sierra Manual (Infotainment Manual)

Page 11 - States the menu options you should have if you have the BOSE system installed. Specifically the DSP Modes and AudioPilot (if Equipped)

Page 24 - Top left states USB PORT "The system is optimized to support two connected devices with a total of 100,000 songs".

Page 98 - TEXT messaging. This does state (IF EQUIPPED) Should it be equipped on mine? I would think it would be.

Your "4000" song limitation has to do with the voice recognition software and is on page 90

The iPod specs are on page 7-19 of your 2014 Sierra Manual Third topic down it states "PLAYING FROM AN IPOD"

Mine is the 4th one listed.

Now can I have suggestions instead of calling me out?

Do you have anything else connect VIA USB when playing music from your ipod? My 80 GB classic worked beautifully. And it was old. I could browse it with steering wheel controls and view it on the screen amongst the gauges.

Perhaps the USB cant handle more than one device connected. My bluetoothis kinda iffy too. Takes a while to connect and freezes on the display, yet the songs keep changing.
