Mylink = my disappointment

Recommended Posts

Here I'll go out to my truck.. My onstar remote link isnt working and they want me to call from my truck anyway. Its just so bloody cold I dont wanna go outside haha. I'll get back to you. None of those options sound familiar to me.. But I have played with it much yet. I saw some thing for EQ, but no way to adjust it... Just simple treble, mid, and bass settings.

Will report back.

Swoopsd - I don't have those settings on my BOSE/NAVI All Terrain. Sell your truck cause you will never be happy.

To everyone - why fight with ipods, cords, etc, etc, etc.... just put everything on one little SD card and be done with it. So much easier.. I would 32gb or 64gb is enough? I have a ton on music.. all on 8gb card.

It's nice to play off an IPhone or android. That way you only have to maintain one device with content and play lists.

I use a Galaxy Note3 and connect via bluettoth. I use google play and it works fantastic.

PS. You will need a phone if you want to use the Pandora Functionality.

Because I have LOTS of music... I'll just have to go through and take the time to put it on the usb stick I have.. Gonna return the SD card I have because I can;t get a definitive answer as to what works and Im sick of screwing around buying and returning things. I need 64 gigs to fit all my music, which I like to have with me at all times. I'm always on the road. I've only had the truck for like 5 days.. And ive been working for 4 of them.. So haven't had time to mess around much. This is me figuring it out as I go.

The first sd card I got would not work eather. Went to Walley world. Told the girls in electronics I wanted the fastest sd card they have. Put every thing on the new sd card. No problem with music or movies. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Why would they put the Test Messaging feature in the manual if it's not offered... thats crazy.

Thanks VMaxtastic!! That looks like mine. Only difference is my Software Version is 23203140.

GMC-AT, you're happy with something that doesn't work the way it should when you buy it? That's not exactly helpful.

If I buy something and it claims it does something, it should do it. Otherwise its False Advertising.

I don't see a problem with holding GMC accountable for making something and it's broken. I'm asking for help from this group.

Obviously, selling my truck isn't help, it's a BS answer from someone who has zero useful information to give. I don't care you use an SD card.

I shouldn't have to buy and SD card for it to work. GMC say it will work with my iPOD. I don't think that's too much to ask.

Please try not to be ridiculous. I'm just looking for fixes. Not worthless responses.

@ SkunkStripe

Can you tell me what brand it is? How big is it? What are it's transfer speeds? Like I'm hoping I just got an incompatible 64 GB one. It cant be formatted to FAT 32, only ExFAT, which I believe is my problem. I love how the system works, just need to figure out what is compatible, and what isn't, because GM doesn't seem to be able to tell me.. Only vague answers.

FYI, I think it's a bit unfair to attack Swoopsd.. He's being pretty reasonable, simply asking why things that were advertised to work, do not.

I have an iPod Classic 30 gig that has been working since day 2 of having the truck, end of October. I also have a SanDisk 64gig SD card with all of music set to go when the iPod dies since I bought it back in '05 or so. The SD card I formatted in NTFS if I remember right. FAT32 was an option from the manual but NTFS I feel is better. This was on a PC but when I seleteced format FAT and NTFS were 2 of the options besides EXFAT but EXFAT is not supported by the infotainment system. The manual says it supports playlists but I haven't tried them yet. If you are not using playlists and your music is broken up in sub-directorties by group and album the system seems to lock onto 1 album and plays it over and over. I had to move all the files in 1 directory to get random play of the all of the music (about 4k files). The system still shows the songs by group or album so long as the meta-data is set in the mp3 files.

I'm pretty sure it can also read NTFS. (not staking my life on it)

I have a 2 TB Hard drive connected via USB. Works like a charm.

The HD is USB 3.0

Really???? That's awesome! I'm going to try to format it to NTFS, and see if it is recognized that way. So you just run an external in your center console?

Are the USB ports in our trucks USB 3.0 or 2.0? I couldn't find that in the manual either.

Seatec. Thats awesome. The manual states externals won't work. Did you plug it into the 120v Outlet for external power? Or it runs off the usb? I know my 1TB runs off the USB. Just surprised ti works. LOL Maybe I'll be giving that a try for fun.
