Anyone install a "Black" Bowtie yet??

Could always try applying vinyl wrap over the emblem as well. I did it on mine and worked out great. I did a "carbon fiber" look to it.

I plastidip it. Taped it off and sprayed it w 3 coats light coats of plastidip. Looks good and saved 99 dollars.

Thanks!! I got it from Canadian Tire, but you could get it online, or from a sign/ graphic company as well. It doesn't take much material. I did the back emblem as well, which was actually harder because it is smaller. I installed it in the summer and it has held up great so far.

I liked this option because i figured if it didn't work out or I didn't like it I could just peel it off.

I just ordered black ones for my truck for 99.00 shipped on ebay. ..wonder what is involved in swapping them out

The instructions that came with mine had me drilling out the old one for the front. I never did it, I just used the black plastidip with glossifier. It came out great, and hold up fine. I do a lot of hwy driving with all the road salt around here and it's flawless. Just couldn't see myself drilling anything on a new truck

It was super easy to install, use the template, carefully drill to approximate depth listed in the instructions.

 

I personally thought the stock bowties looked like sh!t! No matter how many coats, the rough texture could not be covered it up.

Nope.. didn't even clean it Lmao.. it's spray rubber.. it sticks to shiny tools

But in my opinion it looks like sh!t, with the rough texture of the original oem emblem. Good luck!

I agree mike the ones I bought are smooth shiny and look sweet..can't wait to get them on..The factory ones are rough texture. .

I bought mine on ebay from trucks n vans with free usps shipping ..other places I found online are charging ridiculous 43.00 shipping charge
