Not a trick but today my truck let me know "Ice Possible - Drive Safely" on start up... wasn't aware of that feature.

**I'm in south Louisiana where it rarely gets to freezing**

Mine does this on start up, which I knew, but my question is when you get a certain speed say 35 or 40 does it pop up again? My Traverse said it when you started the car or if the temp dropped while driving, but in my truck I get it at start up in the morning when its -10 then on my way to work it pops up again, when its still -10, so I was wondering if its a speed thing, anyone else notice this?

Don't move to NC. We just got a crap ton of ice and snow during that last storm. I'm from MN, but the people here have no idea what to do in the white stuff. The whole city was shut down for three days.

We know what to do, but since it only snows here like once a year, we just decide to take a couple days off. Therfore, we drive around like bafoons for a couple days! :) I have a daughter Mark that lives in Ohio right on lake Erie. Imagine how those folks like driving behind her in the snow!!! LOL!!! She's not a good driver in ideal weather. Gets it from her mother!!!!!

Haha Mt. Airy is a little further away from New Bern and Greenville, which didn't have any salt for the roads...

Yeah I'm just messing with you! I'm a school teacher and we were out of school for 3 days last week. Saw cars and trucks on US52(on the third day when snow and ice had been cleared completely) driving 35 mph. You are correct sir, most people here don't have a clue. Especially the ones that put it in 4wd and think they can still drive 70 in the snow.

Oh I know. That's funny though. I've seen plenty of people get stuck in 4wd.

When it snows in SC my truck stays in the garage, we don't get enough of it for me to get 4 wheel drive.

One thing I thought was kinda cool is when you switch your speedo to miles per hour, not only the digital speedo adjusts, but the needle as well.

I just noticed last night the LEDs on the inside door handles even on the rear doors on the extended cabs like mine.

hmm any pics of this?

Why does AC show as on when I use AUTO temperature? Sent from my DROID RAZR HD

So that it can switch between heat and cool automatically (including defrost). I've noticed that it pushes defrost air when using remote start and also when I've seen fog starting to grow on the w/s while driving with it in Auto (and the A/C light lit). Not sure how it is set up to sense the need for defrost - maybe interior humidity?

Haven't seen that switching the A/C on/off when in Auto has any effect on the mpg... so I've been leaving it in full Auto mode.

OK, that was my follow up question whether perhaps MPG is slightly affected leaving the A/C light illuminated.

I couple of things I didn't know...

2. The auto door locks we all hate and have no control over.... I noticed today while backing up in my garage... I went to open the door while backing up and of course it was locked. So instead of hitting the unlock button like I normally do, for some reason I pull the door handle open for the SECOND time and the door would OPEN while I backing up. So you basically just need to pull the handle open twice and it overrides the auto lock thing.... at least at low speed. Not sure what happens at higher speeds.

ok, I had to do it....if you pull on the door handle twice at 70mph, the door will unlock and open.

if you want the heat to run on auto but without the A/C on hit "Auto" then press the A/C button. You can change the temp up or down and the FAN will remain on auto.

Works for the winter time when running the A/C when trying to get it to blow 75-80 degrees isnt need.

Interesting I will try that in the morning. My AC button is always lit up in auto and thought that I might get better gas mileage without running the compressor but was not sure how to keep the heat auto feature engaged and turn the AC off.
