@Ssguy85. Thanks. That does sound pretty good. Im looking for quality>quantity, so loudness isn't priority. Ill look into that one more. Was looking at the Borla S type but man are they pricey. Pypes has a Violator muff that sounds decent also, but its really hard to tell through a video. As for drone yeah, getting used to that. Im on my 3rd oem muffler due to the little flapper failing. Get the high pitched whistle when it comes out of v4, and when in v4 around 40 mph it gets pretty bad. Like a large subwoofer on a bad note. But again, thanks

I'd look long and hard at Corsa. Seems to fit the bill.

Btw, quality = $$

I know more money usually mean better quality. But, Flowmaster is a quality muffler, especially since the one I got was black so I think it's a rust protector or something. Also the pipe the shop used for mine isn't mandrel bent, but I'm sure they're stainless so shouldn't rust. You're not really going to feel the difference between mandrel and non mandrel bent, it's mainly just for looks. Of course mandrel will flow better, but again you won't feel it. I've never like paying that much just for a pre-made cat-back exhaust. I just went to a local shop that's good with exhaust and they did everything from the muffler on back. Parts (Super 44 muffler, pipes and black chrome tips) and labor was just over $300 and I had exactly what I wanted. I'm picky so if I looked for a cat-back I don't think I would find exactly what I would have wanted (same muffler and the tip locations).

I wouldn't be so sure your muffler shop used Stainless pipe. They normally use Aluminium coated high carbon steel 16 gauge pipe. I would ask to be sure...never assume!

Yeah, any of the times I've dealt with a exhaust shop and the pipe was a 'screaming deal', it was aluminized pipe. In our climate, that stuff will rust ASAP.

Attached is a video of my new dual exhaust with Magnaflow single in dual out 18", on my 2015 5.3 LTZ Z71 CCSB Silverado. Too loud for me in the cab at low speeds. I unfortunately removed the flapper & resonator. Will have to go back and fix eventually.

^^that sounds mean man!! I like it!

-Skeet

It's awesome at idle but way too loud otherwise between 1500 and 2000 rpm and when 4 cyl mode kicks in.

I love the sound and how loud my Flowmaster Super 44 is. It can be obnoxious like a loud Harley which can be funny sometimes I just can't stand glasspacks, makes it sound like the exhaust is about to fall apart.

I have been debating about exhaust for a while now and I really like the cat back 45 behind each wheel but being in Canada I've been quoted $425 +13% tax for a 18"magnaflow with aluminumized pipe plus I have to provide tips or order them from him. So I'm looking at 425 for exhaust Plus 100 for two tips which comes to $525 +13% which is $593 taxes in.

If I do it on my own with just a muffler and tip leave the flapper and resonator it would cost me me about $150 for stainless steel 18" Magnaflow muffler and around $80 for a nice tip. (like a dual tip) Plus 13% tax and I install myself.

$600 is pretty cheap for a dual exhaust set up, installed. As 07Softail said, "Aluminized Pipe" will rust, so that's part of the low pricing you have. Also $50 each for tips is also pretty cheap, I'm in Ontario Canada myself, and if I remember correctly, the "Magnaflow" tips I had installed on my 07 Silverado were pretty close to $100 each.

Overall, my system, back in 2007, cost around $900 installed. That's a single in, dual out, with split rear exit using custom stainless pipe, and all Magnaflow parts. All fabricated and installed my a "Magnaflow" dealer. My son now has the truck, and the exhaust system is fine.......even the tips, just a little elbow grease and some chrome cleaner, and they still look as good as new.

I guess what I'm saying, is that sometimes when a deal sounds really good, maybe the quality has something to do with it.

can you make a video of sound when you are driving, and v-4 mode that sounds exactly like i want. but i do make a lot of highway trips and 2 hrs can sometimes get annoying. if you could that would be awesome

Yes, I'll try to do so this evening on my commute home.

If you leave the resonator on you wont notice much difference at all. Im thinking about trying the flapper before the input , duel out , res delete. I already have a brand new full exhaust from my previous buyback that I can scavange parts from. Just not shure if I need the flapper bypass like the Borla(I think it was Borla).

Previous truck was 14 in Maggie with turndowns. V8=MEAN, V4= HORRIBLE Blackhawk chopper LOL

edit- the best part of the vid was the hand off of the phone to your kid. The reflection looked like a funhouse mirror .haha Sad thing is , that is about my actual porportions LOL

    • The LCA bolts are NOT a one time use fastener.  GM does not have them called out as such at all.   They are torque plus degree, but not a one time use TTY.  Nowhere in the service manual does it call out for replacing the LCA bolts for being one time use.  Think about it.  The LCA bolts are now the alignment adjustment point, instead of the UCA bolts like the prior generation.    A bolt that is meant to be adjusted for alignment...would it make sense to make it a one time use component?  How would you get an alignment done in the first place?  You couldn't.       Also.  What TSB exactly?  There is no TSB that I see for 2019-2026 for over-torquing LCA bolts.  There was a PI, PIT5533C, but that covered 2014-2018 body trucks for re-torquing LCA mounting bolts.  But those trucks to a 2019-2026?  Not the same, so PIT5533C does not apply.
    • Nice looking setup!  Is this the kit you got?  If so 211 is a great deal!  https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/trailering-camera-system-86584184   My TT came with a wireless rear camera but it only works on an app or a separate screen they sell so I've decide it's not worth the hassle since it keeps disconnecting and with wireless android auto it's a hassle trying to connect my phone to it.  So I've been thinking about adding the GM camera so it's integrated into the rest of the camera views.   I also found this one which seems to be a different PN & retail price that explicitly states the invisible trailer view https://www.shopchevyparts.com/chevrolet/2024/silverado-2500-hd/electronics/85825715-silverado-2500-trailer-camera-transparent-view-requires-trg-camera-provisions-p-92326971.html?sort=2a
    • You didn't say what year it is. I have a '17 5.3 6l80e & used the Range AFM delete for a while to stay in V8 mode. Then I got a local tuner to preform a HPTune on my 6l80e & love it. He did a AFM delete, torque matching between engine & transmission, removed converter slip and mild engine tune that helps the transmission. Gears shift better, at specific speeds, no hunting for gear, no 2 gear down shifts, no spark plug miss feel. Drives like a different truck. I highly recommend it.
    • I know this old thread but I just replaced the left side engine mount on my 2018 5.3 2wd and it was a pain. A quick search showed that it was probably going to cost around $600 to $900 to get it replaced. I researched how to replace it and decided to do it myself being that I'm retired and have the time and tools. What should have taken a day took me 4 days plus a couple trips to my chiropractor and some blood. Why a mount failed at 150k miles is beyond me but such is life.   Peace
