Ok so I got my exhaust done today did a 3in piping from the cats back with an x-pipeand two Borla XR1's and had the third cat removed. Drove the truck about 3-5 miles back to my house and my check engine light came on. I hooked up my scanner and it shows DTC code P0420-Catalyst System Efficiency below Threshold(bank 1). Ive read that the third cat really is more of a dummy cat but im not sure if this is why my light came on. Anyone experience this before or have some info on it?

How close did they cut to the o2 sensors? Did they weld there or clamp? Leak maybe?

The third cat is downstream of those O2 sensors so what it does or doesn't do is not monitored. Sounds like you screwed up an oxygen sensor.

They cut pretty close to the o2 sensors and i took it back today to check for any leaks which i didnt hear and neither did they. They re welded around it and i cleared the code and it came back up so im thinking o2 sensor mightve gone out.

Removed the flowmaster and installed a spintech pro street 6000 3" center in 3" offset out and ran a 3" pipe after to a black 3" in to 4" tip. Sounds way better on my v6 and no drone.

Volant exhaust with headers with no cats is FREKIN LOUD!!!

 

Going to see about getting a different muffler because jesus.....

 

Also got it tuned with my local tuner. BBP was iffy about turning my CELs off due to no cats so didnt even bother. Am super happy with the tune....

 

But god that exhaust...... My girlfriend said she heard me coming 3 blocks away..... Hahaha that's a bit too loud.

I have a cold start video with just the catback on my go pro.... Ill start it up in the morning with the headers and wake up 3/4 of the city hahaha.... Ill get a video posted up....

 

Cruising and idle it sounds beautiful but acceleration dear baby jesus cover thy ears cause imma commin!!!!

Maybe try the 22" Magnaflow to quiet it down some. My 18" sounds good but would likely be too loud with headers.
