Lumbar seat adjustment broken

Just wondering how many GMT900 people have a lumbar seat adjustment that doesn't work? My dads '10 escalade and my brother's '07 silverado both have passenger side in/out lumbar adjust that just makes a clicking noise when the button is pushed. Up/down works fine but not in/out. Seems like there must be a common issue there. How complicated is it to get to the problem part for a fix?

my 2007 escalade has the same issue. The replacement part is outragious as it is a whole unit and you cannot buy individual motor. On mine it appears the cables sliped off the whell in the motors transmission. I will be taking mine apart when I get gome after the holidays and will post up info

Thanks for the info guys. Interested to see if this really is a common problem and how easy it is to access and fix.

I read on another forum that the plasitc gears break and the replacement ones have metal gear. A module come with both mototrs and it you have a pop rivit gun to attach the motor to your original assembly you can use the up down motor to fix the other.

the whole assembly comes out. Yoy can see in the second pic it is only held on by a rivet

Thanks for the pics. Maybe a trip to the u pull junkyard would turn up a cheap replacement.
