I bought a used undercover flex from Craigslist for 140.00 it was on a truck that was really used as work truck so the cover has some paint chips on the aluminum and some fading on the panels.I didn't want to fork up 1,000 for a cover that I really want at this time but a hard fold cover caught my interest from a Avalanche that I previously owned.Im going to sand it down and color match the whole cover the best I can.I don't have the drains hooked up surprisingly went thru a car wash very minimal water got inside, its functional and works great.6440174fd0b11e566241feb650305cb9.jpg6ce154a6ec2f2838182064c3d49156cb.jpgc075edef2ecd48ed036fd61e99a4ba37.jpg

Everyone with the Undercover Ultra Flex, how are y'all taking care of it ?

Wasn't sure if I needed to wax it or what exactly I needed to do to it.

Thanks for the help !

Just got an Undercover Ultra Flex for $830 installed. If you're in the Dallas area and interested, let me know and I'll let you know where I got it. So far, I really like the looks and functionality.

I was told to use 303 Aerospace Protectant.

Also seeing how Bak and Undercover are so closely related see link below.

Have you put any on it yet ?....I was just worried that new smooth matte finish might look greasy with 303 on it.

I have read where some places say just wash it and not put anything on it, but I feel like what you heard could be right....you'd think some kind of protectant would be needed.

I have put it on. Started just with the rubber pieces (to keep them from fading/cracking/drying out) but then (after some over spray) I used it on the aluminum.

I don't think it looks greasy (like armor all) but helps to restore when I first installed. Otherwise it starts to look a bit faded.

Just make sure you use what the manufacturer recommends or they will void your warranty. I know for a fact Extang is GREAT with warranties as long as you don't use a different protectant. 303 should be good, and here are a couple others:

Terrific......sounds like just what I need to use.

I know it's good stuff from my other covers just wasn't sure how it would look with the matte finish.

Thanks for letting me know how it worked for you !

That's what makes this so confusing....UnderCover in the message I got from them just says to wash it with the truck and that's all...no other protectant needed.

With it having aluminum panels that are painted the matte black color.....it's unfamiliar territory to me.

I have had powdered coated aluminum and loved it, but never the matte black paint before.

I loved my Retrax Pro, not as bad with water leaks for me as some say. Super easy, secure, loved that you could lock it in place anywhere. Gonna get another one for my new truck.

Looking at the undercover ultra flex and the MX4. Could i get some advice from people who've owned the product?

My main concern is security and water tightness.

My ultraflex will leak some in the corners. I believe its somewhat average to above average on security (better than those cheaper canvas with Velcro). Fold-a-cover shows a video of using a coat hanger to open the (bak and undercover) folding covers.

Anyone looking for a Bakbox2? I have a brand new one in unopened box. Had a heck of a time getting my Revolver X2 delivered so they shipped the box to me complimentary. Have it listed in the for sale thread...PM if interested

    • The LCA bolts are NOT a one time use fastener.  GM does not have them called out as such at all.   They are torque plus degree, but not a one time use TTY.  Nowhere in the service manual does it call out for replacing the LCA bolts for being one time use.  Think about it.  The LCA bolts are now the alignment adjustment point, instead of the UCA bolts like the prior generation.    A bolt that is meant to be adjusted for alignment...would it make sense to make it a one time use component?  How would you get an alignment done in the first place?  You couldn't.       Also.  What TSB exactly?  There is no TSB that I see for 2019-2026 for over-torquing LCA bolts.  There was a PI, PIT5533C, but that covered 2014-2018 body trucks for re-torquing LCA mounting bolts.  But those trucks to a 2019-2026?  Not the same, so PIT5533C does not apply.
    • Nice looking setup!  Is this the kit you got?  If so 211 is a great deal!  https://accessories.chevrolet.com/product/trailering-camera-system-86584184   My TT came with a wireless rear camera but it only works on an app or a separate screen they sell so I've decide it's not worth the hassle since it keeps disconnecting and with wireless android auto it's a hassle trying to connect my phone to it.  So I've been thinking about adding the GM camera so it's integrated into the rest of the camera views.   I also found this one which seems to be a different PN & retail price that explicitly states the invisible trailer view https://www.shopchevyparts.com/chevrolet/2024/silverado-2500-hd/electronics/85825715-silverado-2500-trailer-camera-transparent-view-requires-trg-camera-provisions-p-92326971.html?sort=2a
    • You didn't say what year it is. I have a '17 5.3 6l80e & used the Range AFM delete for a while to stay in V8 mode. Then I got a local tuner to preform a HPTune on my 6l80e & love it. He did a AFM delete, torque matching between engine & transmission, removed converter slip and mild engine tune that helps the transmission. Gears shift better, at specific speeds, no hunting for gear, no 2 gear down shifts, no spark plug miss feel. Drives like a different truck. I highly recommend it.
    • I know this old thread but I just replaced the left side engine mount on my 2018 5.3 2wd and it was a pain. A quick search showed that it was probably going to cost around $600 to $900 to get it replaced. I researched how to replace it and decided to do it myself being that I'm retired and have the time and tools. What should have taken a day took me 4 days plus a couple trips to my chiropractor and some blood. Why a mount failed at 150k miles is beyond me but such is life.   Peace
