Installed my Aries 4" Big steps today. Installed quick and easy,very strong and Aries said it best " Size does matter"!!! got for $300 at autoanything.com

Ionic Railway step boards. Fit and finish is excellent and I found them on sale for $369 shipped from AutoCustoms. I think these are also offered by the Lund brand as well. Installed very easy and mounts to the cab body with 2 bolts per bracket and 4 brackets per board.

I placed an order for the AMP PowerStep yesterday with http://tonneaucoversworld.com/accessories-2.aspx and I called them to order and they said that the new Plug and Play options just hit their inventory on Monday. So I ended up ordering them and am excited that I will not have to be ripping into the doors. I spoke with Donald Hardy 1-888-855-4621 Ext. 415 and he is aware of them.

I am excited to see how much of a difference there will be in the install time for this new option. I will respond back here with pictures and the time it takes me for the install.

Did you have to put spacers to get them even? The back of my powerboards are right up against the bottom of the truck, but the front is down maybe a 1/2 inch. Hard to see but annoys me regardless.

No I did not use spacers. They were pretty straight, within a 32nd.

Funny you mention this. Was told it was in stock on Monday and then today I was informed it is back ordered for 2 weeks.

You know I am willing to pay that even though it is pretty steep if all it requires is to run 2 wires from the running boards into the cabin to attach to their harness. Better than ripping apart all 4 doors on a new truck. Besides think of the time savings and the cleaner install with less wires taped into.

I am been putting off my install of the power amp step until the new module came out. The new module is PN 76400-01A, looks to be about $150. Three hours of install time or I buy three bottles of scotch....tough choices here.

I'm in the same boat as you as far as waiting for the harness module. I just called autoanything and spoke to Dasan at ext 7135 (Great guy btw) and he put in a special order for the harness for me since they dont carry it just yet. Price is better than i have seen as well at $115.50 out the door. Should be here in a week or two.

Has anyone installed the amp powersteps (w/ new plug n play module) that has a Range device? If so, what are you using to plug the Range and module into the OBDii?

Has anyone installed the amp powersteps (w/ new plug n play module) that has a Range device? If so, what are you using to plug the Range and module into the OBDii?

I didn't use the new plug and play, but the video showed they have a spliced connector with an additional OBD Port so you can still use your range or hook up a scanner. It has a couple mounting points so you can mount it under the dash next to the current port. Not sure if the splice is standard equip or additional. I'd think if they take up your port, it would be standard. I know a couple of guys have ordered it and will hopefully chime in.

This is the reply I received from AMP, I think I am going with the plug/play after having to pull the passenger panel to replace my mirror.

If you were to order now we will be shipping kits to the warehouses at the end of this week. The part# for the 2014 GM 1500 and 2500 Gas motor trucks is 76154-1A and this has the new Plug and Play feature for the wiring.
