Just a double check. The new amp p/n 76154-01A includes the OBDII plug in but does not include the pass-though harness correct?

Correct. I had to order my passthru harness separately. Ordered it from Realtrucks.com.

Interested in plug and play / LED lit AMP power steps. That said, while I realize they have a warranty, I want to ensure they will survive New England winters without fail or aesthetic problems....any input on long term owners? Perhaps I'll wait another year or so.

Just put on the NFAB textured black step bars today and they look great! If I knew how to post photos using iPhone I would post pic but it's only my 2nd post so I don't know how.

Think it worked?

I installed my AMP steps finally!

I used the plug and play kit as well as installed my own lighting. The lights are 7" led COB bars and they are quite bright. Now I just need to do my headlights to match the color haha

That looks good. I still cant decide which leds to use for mine... this helps though.

Thank you. These are the lights that i purchased if you're interested: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251525211640?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

There are almost pure white in color. The pictures seem to have a light blue hue to them however. I'm thinking that when i finally do my projector retro fit and HID's, that the colors will be pretty much identical. Fingers crossed anyways.

Edit: here is a short video I took last night of the step operation. You can see the light better here than in a picture.

Thanks for the links and video. I am thinking of trying this for lights, post-128100-0-10036300-1408750008_thumb.jpg

Just a strip of weatherproof LEDs. I thought of running them the whole length of the boards. If not, those you have look to be a great second option.

I was going to do those as well but I didn't know if the light would be directed at all or if it would be a clean spread like the bars. I looked at some pictures of the bars on at night and made a choice. Let me know if those work better and if so I'll redo mine lol

Has anyone with the AMP steps installed them without drilling the hole for the harness to pass through to the cab? Was wondering if anyone found a convenient access point that might already exist on the firewall, etc.

Actually, when you pull the carpet up to drill a hole per the directions, where it tells you to drill, there is a rubber grommet pass through about three inches from that spot that already has wires. Why they don't just tell you to poke a hole and pass through there, don't know... Just be sure to seal it good with a dab of silicone or something.

That seems a lot easier to seal up an extra, small hole in an existing grommet than drilling through sheet metal and chancing rust.

I bought a set from Auto Accessories Garage on July 5th. I finally had a guy start the installation today at a local truck accessory place. They have done quite a few. The guy called me back about an hour later and said that the ones I had (76154-01A) did not have the plug and play feature, just the original style. I've called AAG and they are supposed to be fixing it and sending me the missing stuff that my guy needs. Hopefully I'll have them installed by the weekend.

I did get the rear drop shackles installed and it has evened out and looks better.

Well, my Amp PowerSteps developed a clunk sound on the drivers side. The front bracket was very loose and after tightening it up, the clunk is gone. Decided to check the other brackets and found all bolts were loose, even the motor mount screws. Tightened all to AMP's torque specs and all is quiet and secure...happy now!

I guess my installer worked too fast after all! Word to the wise...always check your installers work!
