Today I took it into the dealership and had them install the 2" leveling kit from fab tech. I love how the truck sits now. They cut me a good deal parts labor and alignment only 320 bucks out the door

So question for the masses: should I ask my dealer before I install my level kit and see what they say or just install it and show up for an alignment? I dont want them to align it and when i pick it up they say oh you lost your powertrain warranty, even though im covered by that warranty act deal.

I tend to gravitate towards dealership alignments in my area cause they seem to be the only ones to get it right

Good question I specifically asked my service advisor if the leveling kit would void any part of my warrantee he said no because they were going to do the install and it was a leveling kit that they sell and recommend. So far so good I love the Fabtech kit the truck rides and handles a lot better.

On another note I forgot to make a video of the install I can try to figure out how to post the sound clip I made. It was pretty straight forward I cut the pipe as close to the muffler left the flapper valve and welded in a piece of 3" pipe. I basically went off this posted by another member. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/154538-muffler-delete/

Last week I had my tail lights tinted left the reverse lights clear and had my rims powder coated gloss black.

Not gonna tint the 3rd brake light?

That is sick I love the rims. What size tires are you running? Did they have to bead blast the rims first? If you don't mind me asking how much did they charge.

not sure exactly what was involved in having the rims powder coated, I have 295/55R20 with 2.5" RC Level. I paid 300 Cash for 4 wheels.

Dang that looks good. You don't happen to live near me so that I can get that sweet $300 cash deal too do you?

Did you add them back because they're chrome or just because you wanted the molding back on? I would color match it, but then again you have other chrome accents so either way looks alright.

Both actually. I like the clean lines they bring with the step chrome and window trim (I'm OCD so it plays well for me)

Well, you know I like it.

Why yes, you were the inspiration! Your pics clinched the deal on the CK156s!

Old doesn't have a lot of bennies, but knowing what you like (and often being more able to get it) goes to us old folks.smiley_quickdraw.gif

This is very true! It's fun being older and able to mod at will instead of pinching pennies saving up and waiting for every mod.

What made you go back? Looks perfect like that imo.

Just going to be driving a lot more and the big lift / wide wheels and tires just wasn't practical.

Did you tint the lights yourself? If so what did you use? If not, who did you have do them?
