Yesterday decided to debadge the Z71 4x4 decals from the sides of the truck, then today decided to paint it and add it to the grille

Also decided to pull the GMC logo off the rear, painted the chrome semi-gloss black and letters to match the truck, now about put back on. Also painted the second Z71 4x4 to match the rear emblem and putting it on the rear as well

Edit: for anyone who wants to try and do the Z71 similarly where you'll paint the X a different color on the 4x4, be warned that its a huge PITA to tape it off just right and even more difficult to get it to look good. I took about 7 tries and several hours of trying before I just settled for "close enough"

Window tint, front and back. Worlds of difference with the heat blocking in our Texas summer. My arm isn't burning when it's up on the door and the truck has remained cooler after leaving it in a parking lot for a period of time.

If you do the windshield it does even better. Left my truck out in the sun all day and got in and it was like walking into an AC'd house

How did you do this?

Not mine, but I've done similar with foam and an electric fish filet knife. Other option is a hot wire gun.

Did you tint the entire windshield or just the top 6 or 8 inches? Where I am, illegal to tint below 6 or 8 inches. And I think the "eyebrow" looks dumb.

Eventually maybe. They make a tint that's not really darker but does provide the heat and UV reduction if I am not mistaken.

It's illegal here too. But I've had it for around 8-9 months now without issue. I've talked to cops from Texas and LA and they've said as long as you aren't doing anything to attract attention to yourself then a cop shouldn't pull you over for it.

They do, I know Llumar makes one but it's expensive. I got some cheap film on mine. I think it's Suntech carbon. $110 installed vs the $250 for the Llumar Air 80 installed.

I also need to pull mine off every 2 years for a brake tag/inspection sticker so that's why I cheaped out.
