my interior lighting stuff showed up yesterday in the mail!! soooo stoked!!

first thing i did was see if my illuminated cup holder idea would work

right now everything is just taped together for the mock-up and nothing is drilled, but i think it's going to look pretty sweet.

the glow tubing cost me $3.51 (CAD) and the plastic was left over from another project - so that makes me really happy!!! ...inexpensive and looks cool (at least i think it does!)

hopefully i'll have time later today to get everything properly put together

^^ that's exactly why I went with my GMPP Borla muffler. Deeper tone and sounds great when you get on it, but pretty tame. Perfect IMO.

See I just installed mine last night and it's still quiet, double checked the part # on the box to make sure I got the sport version. How long have you had yours on for? Does it get louder with time? I can barely hear mine on a cold start

Did you leave the flapper valve on? I did and I could barely hear it. I went up the next day and had the resonator cut off. Still quiet. I was starting to panic and thought I wasted my money. I bought a hose clamp and clamped the flapper open, and it was a night and day difference!!! I talked to the guys at Borla when I ordered it and they said to keep the flapper valve on when installing this muffler. Cut that sucker off!! No drone and it sounds great.

I've had mine on for a few months now. Still sounds the same.

Yeah flapper valve still on, kept it there because I wouldn't have had enough pipe if I cut after it. I have the truck tuned and turned off AFM anyways so I don't need it. Guess I could have my exhaust shop just replace the entire pipe after the muffler and keep the Chevy tip, I like the look of it

Go get a hose clamp and clamp it open first. Mine is just clamped open now. I guarantee it'll put a smile on your face.

Hope so! I'll do it after I get out of the woods later. How big of a clamp did you get, 3.5"? 3"?

It's a 1 1/16"-2" hose clamp. Just a reg 2" one will work. It takes 2 mins. Let me know how it sounds after!!

Did you clamp it completely around the exhaust pipe or was there a different way you did it?

I left the flapper valve on mine but deleted the rear resonator. I'm debating if it's a little too quiet lol

Here it is. It's on the backside, but you can get the idea. You rotate it 90* to open the flapper and clamp it open.

Aberaclaw, flapper clamped open or cut out with no resonator is perfect. I had a Magnaflow cat back with headers on my last truck and it was a tad loud. I like it to sound "tasteful" now instead of just loud. Plus driving around with the kiddos it sounds perfect now.

2" hose clamps are only a few bucks, but if you go to Autozone, ask for a box of the KE-24BX clamps in the commercial dept. they're only a few bucks for a 10 pack. I used them for my flapper and for my seat shifting fix.

Oh okay I see, just clamp it to the other square part that is welded to the exhaust. I'll open it up and find out tonight hopefully

Alrighty this is a little clip from a cold start. I don't feel like the audio does it justice but hopefully this helps somebody out with a general idea. https://vimeo.com/187476411

    • So you're saying toss the baby out with the bathwater? @txab posted article was her take on how AI can be used to manipulate pricing as it already does and has been rebuked by the judiciasry in housing. How AI can be and is used to maximize refinery or even Amazon operations all of which are true but because she is who she is; that makes what she says about what is true, false? Is that something akin to Pre-justice aka prejudice?    Look, I'm first in line to approach all information with caution just because we live in a world where people like to lie about someone or something with such a straight face and in such volume that it makes digging to the truth wearisome. Meaning I understand the skepticisms but if I were to toss out everything a person is for a view they hold then my pool of people to draw wisdom from would be non-existent and I'd be forced to reinvent the wheel daily. Not practical.    "Be innocent as a dove but as cautious as a serpent."    Test each word. Every good lie is part truth or no one would believe it. Find the truth in it and reject what isn't.    On this one, AI is being used to do what has been done by hand for hundreds of years already but at such speed, the point of a computer, that it is more easily monetized. This one wasn't that hard a lift.    I wrote a few formulas in a Lotus 123 program decades ago, a series of linked Macros actually, that allowed a daily inventory to be turned into a running P&L and production plan. Something that took three departments a week to assemble now took the time it takes to input the 'daily changes' in inventory. Later that was ungraded to the more powerful Excel program an and integrated with bar code scanning, inventory to supply was done once per shift. It had a huge impact on production scheduling, Seamless interruption flexibility, inventory error reduction, raw materials cost effective utilization and scrap reduction. Huge improvement in the bottom line. I spent months on that and AI could have done it in minutes. So yes, it not only can be used, they would be foolish to not try. The legality, ethics and morality are not the domain of AI. Humans need to keep a reign on it.
    • New to this forum.  Also looking to tune a 6L80 and trying to work out all the issues in my transmission swap.  I have a 6.2 diesel (1983) and have removed the TH-400 and about to put in a 6L80 with a TCM-2600 interface and don't have a clue what I doing after that.  Did you (Leatherneck/RAV3) get your slip resolved? I too hate to spend that kind of money on a tuner that hopefully I will not need too many times although from what steelerdude15 added about the HP Tuner being great for diagnostics would be a plus.  I am also from WNC but below you in Columbus.  Any helo would be greatly appreciated.
