Debadged it. Had trouble with the "4x4" sticker on the bedside so now they look like crap until I can work at them some more. Anyone have tips for those?10aaad0162e6b6a73e90b3e6808638a2.jpg0550a135362af15c34bf4e66068ff0e7.jpg

Rubber decal/adhesive removal wheel in a drill.  You're welcome.

I used goof off and a plastic scraper and the badges came off easily enough, but it seemed to have no effect on the 4x4 sticker.

I guess I'll stop by the auto parts store tomorrow.

Gasoline works great, you just have to clean and wax it after, because it removes the wax. Can't remember exactly how I did the 4x4 sticker it was so long ago, but light heat gun can help pull it off in one piece.

Working on my second tablet dash kit. This is for my galaxy tab s2, I will be moving my stock stereo to the bottom as I don't have steering wheel controls so I need to keep my factory radio, YouTube video will be coming soon. cad748b80c16f16b565fcf42893a4744.jpg

so i had an idea a while ago...  i have been using a 2x8 in the back of my truck as a 'divider' (just sliding it into the little groves on each side of the box).  it worked great but i wanted to do something a little 'more'.

i came up with 2 layouts that i liked - i ended up going with the bottom one:

5a6578c6020e3_silveradoboxdivider.thumb.jpg.72ea924320ef8fa4a638f60af945d81e.jpg

one of the pieces of equipment i have with my business is a laser cutter, so using taped together file folders i created the template....

put the template on the 2x8....

and transferred all the 'cut outs'

i wanted to use a router, but to make life a little easier, i drilled out as much as i could first....

once the drilling was done i screwed plastic jigs to the 2x8  (i made the jigs with the laser cutter, just 1/8" plastic.  my thinking was that the little wheel on the top of the router bit would just follow the cut out in the plastic.)

IMG_5537.thumb.JPG.7d142cd3997d69078af6cf30aabe956d.JPG

it worked great!

IMG_5541.thumb.JPG.3f25e19f7653da03a41423bfe26f9238.JPG

then use wood filler on all the screw holes...

IMG_5542.thumb.JPG.bbe3e63e1d7bf857af557aea59b456e1.JPG

then sand it and get ready to paint....

IMG_5543.thumb.JPG.3a7f1a02a14f623a4d27f96430660732.JPG

and here it is...

overall i'm really happy with it.  the only thing i need to do is go get another can of flat black.  i grabbed a can of what i thought was flat but ended up being semi gloss!  ha!  oh well, will add the final flat coat in the next couple days after i can get to a hardware store

if anyone else wants to try the same thing i'll see if i can attach the file i used with my laser cutter...

silverado box divider.ai

^^maybe it worked??  it's just an ai file - nothing special.  if the above file didn't upload properly and you'd like to try this just fire me a private message with your email address and i'll send the file.

the one thing i'd still like to add is a piece of stainless steel to the back side, but just behind the chevy logo - i think that would look sweet.  i just need to get to a local metal shop
