.. got aftermarket key blank and cut locally.. programming it to the truck only took a few seconds.. now I have 4 sets of fobs and keys for the truck. [emoji3]

..I got mine on eBay Canada.. just a cheap $15 one.. or they are available on Amazon as well.

I will let my truck run low on fuel when travelling to save stopping.  However,  I rarely will park overnight at home or on the road with less than 1/2 a tank. It is part of my emergency preparedness.

My 2016 truck came with only 1 key and key fob. I bought a 2nd key, but not a 2nd fob. I can find the fobs online, but everything I've read says you can't program them yourself, dealer has too, and it's expensive. Can you share where you found the info to program your fobs? If I can do it myself, I'll buy one.

Bilstein 5100’s, 1” lift block, 285/75/17 BF Goodrich KO2’s, Pro Comp Rockwell wheels, custom bed rack, Morimoto fogs, Morimoto HID headlight bulbs, and Bakflip x2 tonneau cover.

page 3 of this thread shows the programmer you order to program the fobs cheapest I found it was on Rock Auto

and yes it will work on GM fobs not just the one it comes with

I really appreciate your reply. I actually found that thread after asking the question, and am researching the best price. Looks like Rock Auto is close to half of everyone else I can find, for those of you looking to purchase one of these.

I bought the bed rack from someone on Facebook marketplace. They made it to fit a Tundra but it fits perfectly on the sides of my Bakflip x2 cover. I added flat bar that fits down inside of the front stake pockets. In the bed I can put a bolt into the flat bar. In the rear I bolted through the bed rails. It’s made of 1.75” tubing and it’s powder coated.
