Haven't posted in a while so here's the latest mods/fixes.

1. Added SDHQ A-pillar brackets with Procomp lights. They work off the factory ORL switch. Not sure if I like the look or not yet. Deer season starts today and these should help light up the roads at the property. I'm planning on adding a 30" bar behind the grill but trying to fit one with the active shutters is a pain and will take longer than the install of these. At least the wiring is already under the hood if I decide to get rid of these for the bar behind the grill.

2. Moog swaybar endlinks and swaybar bushings. These actually seem to have tightened up the front while turning.

3. No pics but I replaced the steering shaft boot that connects to the firewall. NO MORE TICKING in the cab when accelerating. Wish I would have done this sooner.

4. Added the leather shift knob. No pics again but everyone knows what it looks like.

5. My Denali cluster should be arriving Monday from WAMS so that's next.41d1c34bf083c879461dbbe7baf7ae23.jpg40e00f44b331528cf9e2ab1893042215.jpg

I think it was $35 at the dealer. Amazon has them for $34. Part # is 2581560. They have white lithium grease in them already but I added more since that's what everyone else is doing during the install.

Yeah I took about 30 mins to install. 1 15mm bolt on the steering shaft. Remove that bolt and push the shaft up to separate it from the gearbox. Then remove the 3 10mm nuts that hold the boot to the firewall.

Thanks. It's a 7" readylift.

Can someone explain to me how a steering shaft boot makes a ticking noise?!? I’m serious. Sorry I’m stupid. I’ve been hearing this ticking noise in the cab since day one. And it’s been bugging the crap out of me.

Thank you.

My truck did tick when I bought it but I ended up doing the afm delete, due to racing an older C10 made one of my lifter collapsed ? felt like shit as I had to spend an extra 1600$ To fixed it after puttin 5000$ down on it but glad I don’t have to worry about that anymore!!! Non afm cam, ls7 lifters, oil blockers, new head gaskets, new head bolts not sure what else I’m missing. That doesn’t include the tune I had to do or the catalyst converter I had to buy as I was

running it without the tune so it ****ed up my cats so I swapped the whole Y-pipe from a 2018 Sierra

I honestly have no idea. Maybe the seal gets bad, or the grease wears out and let's motor noise transfer into the cab? After reading a ton of posts with people saying it fixed there noise for $35 I said why not. I was sceptical but it actually worked. I've been hearing that damn ticking during acceleration for 3 yrs. Took it to the dealer twice and they said it was normal. Now its fixed.

I went to LS Fest in Bowling Green at the first of the month and was looking at all the swaps. Most of those swaps had oil filler necks on the valve covers. Why does our trucks not have the oil filler neck on them? So, I searched and found a thread and ordered a GM filler neck. The problem with it was it aimed the cap at the firewall or toward the grill. No good. I ordered a Dorman filler neck and modified it. I think it turned out good. Now I have a little time before I get to use it but I am pleased with how it turned out. I wish I had done this when I first got the truck. It may have helped prevent a spill or two over the 110k miles.

EDIT: It does take some modification to make it fit our trucks. It is made for a valve cover with one tab to lock it in place. Our valve cover/rocker cover has two tabs. I used a dremel and modified it to fit the two tabs.

I missed a picture. It requires some modification to make it fit. I totally forgot to mention. I edited the post above to include I modified it. Here is the picture of the modification. I know it looks rough but it fits tight and should not leak.
