I am going to recommend a Street Guardian 9665GC, will be hardwiring mine into the truck tomorrow. Been running one in my car for almost a year now, form factor is low profile, image quality is great. https://www.amazon.com/Street-Guardian-SG9665GC-microSD-Supercapacitor/dp/B00U0OJMYG

I Have this dash cam since my 2010 truck. Best investment i have ever done.it's also hardwired.

Skip to 1:30 to see it. LOL

here is the night driving:

Skip this to 1:06 to see it. LOL

Quality looks great. I'm not a fan of the form factor though, my Street Guardian tucks up nicely behind my rear view mirror and you really can't even tell its there. So stealth I've had multiple people drive my car and not even realize it has a dash cam. Real nice when you have idiot technicians at the dealer take your car out for a joy ride.

Will post install pics tomorrow

So... I am thinking about adding one of these. I have a teenager that will be a licensed driver soon [emoji15][emoji15]and think this would be a good idea.

What is needed to hardwire these? Just power? What is considered when hardwiring these? Where to tap/run power to? I would imagine switched power? What triggers these to record/stop recording?

I can speak to the last point: Mine triggers recording/stop recording when the truck is turned on. It also has "parking mode" - if I had mine hardwired, it would turn on, even when I'm not in the truck, if someone bumped my truck or walked in front of it.

Depends on the dash cam, most run off a lower voltage then your standard 12 volts so you'll need a regulator. I will be using a add a fuse off a retained power circuit + a 30 dollar 12 to 5 volt USB step down, Nothing difficult at all!

With my 200gb microSD I end up with nearly two weeks of footage.

They come with hardwire harness and instructions. Really easy to hook up. Also, they go to parking mode when you shut off the vehicle. The Camera support up to 512Gb Memory card. That is More than 3 weeks of footages before starting to override from the beginning.

Just put on the Borla Touring Cat Back on, nice smooth, mellow note. NO drone! It's a little quieter than I thought it would be, but I'm sure it will gain a few Db's when I get some miles on it, if not, that's ok too. I usually run Dynomax, or Magnaflow. This is my first Borla, so I wasn't too sure what to expect. I did research online of coarse, but, there are so many variables to what they recorded it with, what you are listening to it on, that you just can't truly trust what you hear. You have to keep in mind that is designed to be on production vehicle that will pass in any state, any laws.

Also, I noticed that my gas pedal did flex as I have read on here, fixed that as well, now FULL THROTTLE! It did make a very noticeable difference.

Installed my Street Guardian 9665GC cam and vinyl wrapped my bowties.

The upper half is the optional cord hider included with the cam, decided to mount it like this for optimum vantage point.

Can't even see it behind the mirror from the driver seat.

Hardwired to the driver dash fuse box via add a fuse.

The hardwire kit fit perfect in the hvac duct crevice, ziptied the excess and ran the wire under the weather stripping up the a pillar and tucked in along the front side of the headliner.

Matte Black wrapped bowties. I hate wrapping stuff in vinyl, as a perfectionist with zero patience it can be fun...

I know where it's at! I'm up here in Stafford, small world! Don't usually see a lot of members on here from VA so anytime I run across one I like to see where they're located
