What have you done to your K2 today?

Recommended Posts

Fortunately for me, the shocks I bought from a member here had the springs already installed. So I didn't need to rent a spring compressor. It was fairly easy doing it the first time.

3 bolts on the top, 2 bolts on the bottom. Then two more bolts (sorry, I don't know the names of the parts those two bolts were [emoji23]). The axle came down some, pulled the whole assembly off. Took me about 3 hours. No video because I was running out of daylight. But I took some pictures so I knew how it went back. LMAO... just in case.

I watched many videos and the spring compressor doesn't look bad. I was ready to tackle that if i had to. The hardest part was pushing the axle down to get the spring/shock back in. Was shy of 1/8" clearance. The retainer nut also got in the way. Didn't have a pry bar so had to use the force, pushing the axel down to get it to finally clear.

Installed Bilstein 5100s all the way around today! Purchased from @gnarlon. Thank you!

Special thanks to: @Justin101714, @cbrsilv15, @jesus953555, @alexantics for helping me get through it. Never done anything like this before and glad I was able to turn some wrenches and hammer some knuckles! [emoji23]. Off for alignment tomorrow morning!

Thanks to this forum for the wealth of knowledge it can provide. On to Illuminated Door Handles! [emoji15]

Nice, tell me about the floor. I'm about a month away from doing mine, and still undecided...

Thanks. I used the Rustuleom Rocksolid. Bought 1 2.5 garage kit but that was not enough and had to run back to Lowe's to pick up another kit to finish it up.

Catch me offline, I'd like to know why you went that route, ease of application and such, that is of you don't mind answering some questions. If not, it's ok. I've been asking a few of my friends as well.

Don't know the measurements but it is a 2 car garage.

Maybe its the picture, but your two car garage appears twice as big as my two car garage!
