Did you make a harness for them?

Yes. These LEDs were part of a larger assembly. I desoldered them, added my own wire, and a 2-pin molex connector for quick disconnect (and replace) if I ever need to.

 

 

YOU got to much FREE time ?

It's what happen when the wife goes out of town :). It was all in the plan. Send the wife off to visit her mom for an early Mother's Day celebration. That's why I have been able to do all that I have done in the past couple of days. She's back tomorrow LOL. So I'll be slowing down then.

The idea came from @bmz72. The LEDs came off of a GM Work Van. Part #23154473.

Here is how it started and how it progressed.

You can the see main board and how it has resistors and mofsets built into the PCB.

I had issues with he LEDs burning up with a direct 12V Dome Lamp circuit going to it.

So a 470 ohm 1/2 watt resistor went online (all I had at the moment). That seems to work.

Dome Lamp Circuit. There are many places to tap the dome lamp. I went for the source in the dreaded X61A Junction Box. I unhanked the existing Dome Lamp circuit, cut and re-pinned with an extra grey wire for the run.
