For those of you that think the HVAC dials have halos as well.... They do not on any build at any time. They never had rings around them so if this why you think its broken then its not. Just FYI.

The HVAC fan speed knob does just not the temp. Knobs.

Correct I should clarify that.

Has anyone been able to get a dealer to perform this fix lately? I noticed tonight that the LED light behind by light control switch, by the drivers door is illuminating, but not behind the other three knobs. I would love to get this fixed.

I had mine done about two months ago. There are a lot of people trying the "I swear they were working but stopped". The dealers probably know better.

I seen one guy throw down the sales brochure with a pic of the center stack all lit up and start giving the service tech hell right off the bat. That will get you no where. Be nice at first and explain that you will "probably" trade in or sell your truck sooner than later to "UPGRADE" and that yours won't be worth as much to an identical one sitting next to it. This worked for me. Service techs are people too. A little "foreplay" goes a long way. If that doesn't do the trick. Well, work your way up the ladder by going to the dealer manager in person, Be nice. Truth is they would eat their own children to get you to "eventually" buy a new truck.

I had mine repaired last week. Simply go to your dealer and explain that yours aren't illuminated and ask them what, if anything, they can do to help. They aren't obligated to replace the boards, since GM distributed a bulletin stating that early build Silverados had this issue. Many dealers that are doing the repair for customer satisfaction and they appreciate your business.

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I will give my dealer a call this week and see if I can get it scheduled for an appt. Its the largest Chevy Dealer in Indiana and have really good customer service, so I'm sure they'll do the right thing (I hope). I'll let everyone know how it turns out.

Interesting. Never actually seen the non-auto climate controls in the dark. I stand corrected

Wow. I wish I had those non-auto control knobs. Red=hot, Blue =cool. My auto system has a mind all its own.

So I went into the dealer today (nail in tire), and spoke to them about the blue LED lights. As I figured, they started looking into it, and found the bulletin from GM. The service guy I've worked with in the past is going to look into what they can do. Sounded like he was going to try and get me taken care of, but don't have my hopes real high. We'll see where it goes. I asked if they'd do it for 'customer satisfaction'.

I heard back from the dealer today, and they have agreed to install the lights for me! They actually offered me two options, 1. install new lights or 2. They would pay 1 months car payment. In the big scheme of things, the lights are much more satisfying to me. They will contact me again once all the paperwork is finalized and parts are in house! Thanks everyone for your help/suggestions.

Well after going back and forth for a couple weeks over this, the dealer I purchased from (John Jones GM City Salem, IN) has basically thrown the bulletin at me and told me it is working correctly. It's disappointing but it's just a few led bulbs, not the end of the world.
