Silverado LED Radio/HVAC knobs: part #'s & warranty claims

Got my truck back today. All lights working. Service manager said he mentioned the bulletin only because he did't want me to be surprised if they couldn't finish it - the radio knob part was good, but they had to order a second HVAC panel. But after all, they worked it out.

Looks good man. We are probably a couple of the last few to get them fixed under warranty.

I contacted my dealer I live in a small town the service manager called me back told him about what I had been reading on this forum about the third time I mentioned this forum he stopped me and asked me what a forum was! I told him about this and gave him the web address he said oh it's some crappy internet thing? I told him no it's full of good info but he acted like he didn't want to help me! Go figure CRAPPY SERVICE!

I understand his reserved approach to internet information it is the wild west sometimes. Have you ever mentioned to your Doctor that you saw this and that on the internet and watched their facial expression LOL.

The internet REALLY helped me the other day I was taking some pictures of a recent home improvement project and had a couple of mysterious translucent ghostly looking spots in one particular picture. After a brief internet search it turns out that these spots are ORBS and our house is most likely haunted by spirits from the other side. Could of course be dust particles but ORBS sounds like more fun I am leaning in that direction. Pic attached. Yup traded out the old wooden step handrail balusters for these sexy wrought iron puppies. I guess the ORB spirits did not appreciate my handy work. I took about a dozen pics and this is the only shot where they made an appearance.

I don't have the lights on my truck. I never really noticed I didn't have the lights until I read this thread. Now I want them too!!!

was able to get my dealer to order them last week and they came in today.. going in for the install in a week (it was their 1st avail appt)

Good for you. It is amazing how much better it looks with proper illumination. I'm glad I asked them to fix mine.

Well just heard back from GM and my dealer is refusing to fix my issue stating previous bulletin about truck operating as intended really bummed out

The larger rings on this loaner vehicle that i have light up on the SIerra, so i don't see whey they wouldn't light up on the other Sierras/Silverados since they are the same size with just different temp. adjustment features.

I think they do that on that particular model of HVAC system. For the electronic control HVAC the bottom 2 knobs are larger and have the chrome rings. Only the 2 radio and the fan control have the LED backlighting.

mine went in yesterday and the fan knob lights but the radio knobs still do not, they did repalce both components( i wonder if there is another bad batch i believe a prior post states the same issue) and now the dealership found the do not fix bulliten so im not sure exactly where i stand at this point but im sure going to fight since it was just "fixed" but still doesnt illuminate
