Chipping Windshield??

Ok guys, first off let me start by saying this is my 7th brand new vehicle and I know what normal wear and tear looks like. I drive 10 miles one way to work on feeder roads with no road construction. The windshield of my truck has about 4-5 chips. Not cracked but chipped. I'm finding this a little strange, the front of the truck has no damage, it just rolled 3k miles and its about 3 months old.. and even more, I'm never hearing anything hit the windshield.

anyone have this problem?

no chips but ive noticed some dingers hitting the windshield lately with all the snow thawing.

Yea I find it strange, I had to get shitty with the service advisor at the dealer cause he acted like I was some idiot calling lol, I would say 4-5 at 3k miles is a little more than average.

They are using cheaper lighter glass to get better mileage. ,I got a nice 3 point chip on the way home the first night.

These windows are bulletproof in my opinion. I had two rocks hit my windshield after falling off the truck in front going about 75mph... I still can't believe the windsheild didn't shatter. Just a few small chips i can barely see

Mine are pretty good size chips. Mines definitely not bulletproof haha

On day 4, less than 200 miles new, as my wife diligently remembers, I was headed up north to go hunting and caught a big rock off a truck going the opposite way, and it put a nice 4 point 1/4" divot right dead center. I figured I would get it filled when I got back. That first big blizzard after thanksgiving we had, I was smart enough to warm my truck up slowly not on defrost. Needless to say 30 miles down the road, small bump, and a giant U shaped crack about 40+" in length... Other than that "little incident", the other rock hits I had on that trip didn't do much. Didn't notice any other pits, albeit hard to see around the glaring "chip".

These windows are bulletproof in my opinion.

Assuming the speed of the bullet does not exceed 2 feet/second.

Invest in a $0 comprehensive deductible. Only a couple more $ and it covers your glass against pretty much everything short of a wreck.

I think most state laws mandate that auto insurance provide free replacement of vehicle windshields under the existing auto insurance policy, even if you have a deductible on your comprehensive.

Not all state, in OK we are not covered for free. It is a comprehensive claim if you try under insurance and you are under your deductible if you file a claim.
