I bought this today, Rust-Oleum FlexiDip 11 oz. Red Spray Paint. I also got a Rust-Oleum clear finish. Is this what others have used?

I plan to do my bowties this weekend and wanted to know if there were any tricks to it. Obviously tape and cover everything around it. Give it a few coats, spray the clear over it when done. Anything else?

I'm seriously considering plasti-dipping my bowties. My truck is tungsten and I have the black mirrors and door handles. Anyone with experience with plasti-dip know what color will closely match the mirrors and door handles?

Well I did this today and it looks like crap, ha. Not sure if I sprayed it on too thick, or didn't wait for it to dry enough. It started peeling up in some spots, just doesn't look good. I'm sure its me but I think I'm just going to peel it off and go with regular paint. Humm...

I just dropped $150 or so on Tungsten color matched bowties no more than 30 mins ago. I wish I had read this thread first and either found something close to the tungsten or just plasti dipped them in black. Oh well I guess

I bought a carbon fibre looking tape at Canadian tire after seeing it on this forum and used it. It bends when you heat it. Was only $15. Not quite perfect but way cheaper than a dealer wrapped version.post-125934-0-61497700-1399863078_thumb.jpg

Ended up doing my 2006 too :)

Just did mine and they turned out great. 4 coats PlastiDip and 2 coats glossifier on the stock Chevy Bowties.

Only took 1 week and my OCD kicked in... Went with the Empire front bow... Much better!

I have the bug now, still trying to decide what to do with the chrome on the hood + the bumpers. Badges are athracite grey + glossifier. Grill chrome is now flat black.

I can't remember exactly, but I know it was very windy. I think slightly cool, but I was in shorts, so not bad. So I dunno..
