Emblem Mods - Paint, Plasti Dip, Vinyl

I ordered some Iridium Metallic paint and completed the rear logo. Three coats of paint and three coats of clear. My only beef is that the metallic did not show as well as the factory paint. So when the sun hits, it does not match well, but if overcast then it looks right.

If you can draw it, it can be made. It's as simple as creating it in cad and sending it to a plasma/laser/water jet table to have it cut from steel/aluminum/stainless. Here in Tulsa you can't throw a dead cat without hitting a company that can do that.

make sure it looks like this. this one is your standard black. If you get the glossifier it will literally say glossifier.

Plasti dipped my front and rear GMC emblems yesterday. I also added the Z71 emblem to the grill. This really was a cheap mod that looks great. Thanks to you guys for laying the ground work on this!

Used Matt black dip and glossifier

 

Did 4 coats of the black with 20 minutes dry time between and 2 coats of gloss

A lot of good looking projects. I don't really understand the plastidip, why not just take the time and use some better quality automotive paints like the Duplicolor products. Perfect paint matches and when using adhesion promoter for plastic parts will be very durable. Done right the first time and you don't have to go back.

Because its simple, easy, cheap, and less time consuming. It can be removed easily to get vehicle back to stock look. It's not for everyone, but for $6/can it's hard to beat the result.

I painted my front and rear bumpers yesterday. The front bumper i did several coats of black and glossifier. It came out pretty good but has that texture that seems to come with plasti dip. My rear bumper however I did in one heavy coat. There was no running and I made sure everything was covered. Then I hit it with one heavy coat of glossifier. I will admit I messed up a few spots with the glossifier due to it blending with the still wet black plasti dip. I may have gotten a little too close.....but it is smooth as a baby's bottom. No texture what so ever, and it looks awesome. Posting pics soon.

this was 3 coats of black, and 3 coats of glossifier. It came out pretty good, but I am going to try to perfect the one coat application. It gives it a lot better appearance in my book..
