Thanks guys! Yeah its awesome. Just tape good. Wait 30min in between coats i did 4.On 5th coat let sit for 5 to 10 and pull your paper off.

. Perfect they are smooth as butter. Plasti dip is amazing stuff

Finally got around to doing something I've wanted to do since I bought my truck -- plastidipping the front bowtie, and completely removing the rear one. There are lots of You Tube sites around showing how to do the plastidip and it was much easier than I thought. Just take it slow and put several (I put four) small coats at a time and let each dry about 30 minutes between coats.

 

I have a photo but can't quite figure out how to put it on here. Any help?

Well sorry - I don't have the necessary hard-drive space (between my ears) to figure out how to get pics on here, so you'll just have to use your imagination. It did come out great though.

 

Removing the tailgate bowtie was pretty easy. I heated it up with a blow dryer (standard hair blowdryer) and ran some fishing line behind it and sort of sawed it off. Removing the adhesive wasn't too bad - just sort of peeled most of it off with my fingertip, then used some mineral spirits to remove the few stubborn spots. Looks so much better.
