Hmmm....well after bcbz71's detailed post I'm a bit torn. While I, like most, like the "look" of a M/T tire a bit more, my truck likely won't be seeing any mud. With that said, I still want the look as well as the function of predominately daily driving in New England. I plan to keep my stock 20" All Terrain wheels.

I seem to be deciding between the Goodyear Duratrac's and the Nitto Terra Grapler 2's.

For looks, I like the Toyo O/C tires the best but I worry more of a M/T tire won't wear properly and have unneeded road noise. Thoughts?

I plan to ad a 2" level so I think I'd be in the size of 275/65/20 right?

I'm not running the exact setup that you're looking at but I can share my experience thus far. First go around was 2" level with 285 65 18 toyo at II's on 18x9 raceline wheels with -6 offset had the slightest rub at full lock in reverse coming down out of the driveway. Second setup 2 " level with 285 65 18 toyos on 18x9 fuels with -12 offset. Rubbed at full lock but would have been fine just zip tying the liner back but I raised the front up another 1/2" and it helped but still rubbed coming down out of the driveway at full lock in reverse. Current setup is 4-1/2" lift in the front and 3" in the rear. Same tires and wheels no rubbing in any situation, unfortunately the 285 65's now look to small so I'm going to try and fit some 305 65 18's in there.

Now the tire you're looking at is 33-1/8" od by 10-7/8" wide. The tires I have are 32-5/8" od by 11-1/4" wide the difference in width on the 275 is only 3/16" of an inch and height is 1/4". the being said your experience should be the same as mine for the various offsets. Although; all these trucks are different and what clears on some doesn't clear on others due to trim packages and what not. Example a 2 inch lift on my z71 4x4 was a true 2" lift using the rancho quicklift. My buddy has the same truck (year, trim, color blah blah blah) only difference its a 4x4 with max tow. 2 inch quick lift on his truck only raised it up 1-5/8". So we compared the length of the factory struts and the black struts are about 3/8" longer than the factory Ranchos on the Z71. The point is, if you're doing a leveling kit that's a spacer as opposed to replacing the strut the clearance you will have depends on the factory struts in the truck and I think there is at least 3 variations, this is the main reason what clears on some doesn't clear on others even though they have the same 2 inch kit from RC. Hopefully this helps.

Do you have any pictures of your truck with the 2" leveling kit and the two different offsets you tried? I would be very interested in seeing that to compare because I haven't made a decision on wheels yet.

The best choice for your needs is the Michelin LTX, but it's not very aggressive looking.

Look at the Pro Comp Extreme AT. IMO, the best looking AT on the market. Good luck finding any...and pricey.

TG2 are an OK choice. I've got them. Horrible on wet roads. Horrible in mud. No noise. To me, not very aggressive.

Toyo OCs. Lotta guys running them. The Extremes look the best. More aggressive than the TG2s.

KO2. Best tire I've had for all conditions except clay. Tend to run narrow.

Discoverer AT. The other three choices are better, but all of them are going to look "tame" on your truck.

Also, take a look at the Falken ATW3. Darn good looking tire.

For something more aggressive, look at the Cooper STT Pro or the Wrangler Duratrac.

To each their own, but 22s and 20s just don't look good on a 4x4 unless you're running 35s or better. 17 and 18s give that beefy look when running 33" and under.

2" level will limit you to 285s or less if you don't want ANY rubbing. Whether you have the rear block in or not, you are going to squat if you tow anything with any sort of tongue weight. I'm running Firestone RideRite Air Bags in the rear and now that I have them, I couldn't imagine towing with them.

The problem with most the st maxx and Toyo RT are they are heavy like a mud terrain.

Pro Comp and Duratracs come in 295/65r18 which is 33.4x11.7; that's pretty close to 33x12! Never been a fan of Generals....maybe the "G" has me thinking they are "generic"...weird, I know. For the amount of money tires cost nowadays, I want a well known brand....preferably with white letters on the outside. Those Cooper ST Maxx are sexy as hell, but don't think I want to deal with that weight either.

I bet! The 6.2 seems like it would be amazing! You feel any power loss with the weight of those tires?? I want something a bit beefier, but don't want to lose power due to the weight

I didn't notice a power loss with the larger tires. Rides great with the Nitto's and Bilsteins.
