yes you should clear easy. At 0 offset my 295's poke out about an inch. +18 will probably exactly even with the wheel well I'd guess. you could always get spacers if you're not happy with the stance

You're running 295s at 0 offset? The other wheel I'm looking at is a 20 inch misfit at 0 offset and I'm nervous I would have to go 285 at 0, think 295/55r20 will also clear on 0 offset with no rubbing at all? Thanks man.

Yep I'm running 295/55/20's on 0 offset (20x9 Moto Metal) with a 2.5" level. You will not rub if you run that set up. Well as long as you don't have mud flaps lol. It rubs one of my mud flaps in reverse only at full lock

Nope I don't have flaps, good to hear. I definitely don't want to do any trimming on a brand new truck, do you have quite a bit of clearance or is it pretty tight? Do you have pics of your set up by any chance?

Yeah give me a minute on the pics. As far as clearance,like it said it rubs on the mud flap. But if the flap wasn't there it would barely clear. You can ziptie the wheel liner back to hold it out of the way so you don't have to cut it. It's nothing I'd be worried about!

Thanks again. If it's just the felt, that doesn't really bother me. I'm worried about rubbing on the plastic edge/bottom fender of the wheel well, that's the kind of stuff I really don't want to trim!

Yeah I had an 06 with 35x12.50s and -24 offset and had to trim that area a bit to get clearance. But that had a 6 inch kit, driving myself nuts trying to figure out what wheels I want to buy

Oh trust me, I've gone through every thread there is on this. TONS of great info. But the consensus I've found on 295/55r20 is you should be between +14 to +27 to run them without rubbing, 0 I see mixed answers on.

I run 285/70/17 with a 2" Level on 17x9 +0 offset wheels. No rubbing at all, no mud flaps. I think you'll be just fine.

Slightly smaller than what I'm looking at, one local shop that does a ton of lifts/off road performance says the 295/55 will clear fine on +18 but I would probably have to trim at 0. I'm debating whether I should just go 285/55 if I decide on the 0 wheel and 295/55 if I decide on the +18

Need some input please. Im currently running 20x10 -12 on 305/55 Nitto trail with a 5" lift and also added .5" to make it sit level and have more than enough clearence. I am wanting to switch to either Toyo At II's or RT's for my next set but want to run 295/60 instead of 305s. Also for those of you that have AT II's and RT's do the ride quite? The Nitto's make more noise than I want and also rides rough IMO. If I added 5100s would that help with the ride quality???? Thanks!

I've got the Toyo At2's in 275/60/20, they're not very noisy but they seem to have a slight vibration between 10-20mph just more from being a more aggressive tire. The 295/60's will be an extreme size so the tread will be deeper and the tire itself will be heavier and will have a rougher ride but shouldn't be bad.

    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.
