Mickey Thompson Deegan 38s. 37x12.50R17 with DICK CEPEK Gun Metal 7s74903c6eb51a5b7960ca9e8bbb1edbaf.jpg

You might have me sold on those wheels, i've been thinking and thinking and thinking on getting my wheels powder coated gunmetal grey or anthracite but for a little more i could pick up new wheels. Which would give me the offset i need to clear a 12" thick tire. Not only could i pick up new wheels i can switch to 17s for cheaper tires/more rubber like i want. Thankyou man i'm definitely getting a set of those. Truck looks phenomenal.

What offset did you go with?

They are 17x9 with 0 offset. They only sell two 17s in 6x5.5. One being what I got and the other is 17x8.5 offset 25.

I see do you have any pics showing the offset and how far the tires are sticking out? Was hoping to pick up the +19mm offset like the fuel mavericks but wasn't looking at the lug patterns. 25mm should give me a little more room to clear a 295/70/17 but i would settle just as well with 285/70/17.

Yes, you can update the computer settings to account for different size tires and thus a different count of rotations per mile. .....

The local dealer to me it would be a bout $50 to $60 for the shop time to have them re-program my truck for a different tire size and any dealer would be far less likely to squawk about the warranty because it was just tire size and a dealer did the work.....

That being said, my '03 had 4.10 gearing and going with a 285/75R16 actually yielded better mileage than the stock 265/75R16 because my motor was at a lower RPM for the same speed and therefor using less fuel per mile.

That's a great idea. Thanks for the heads-up. And that's a good point, Hozer. The bigger tires although heavier, they will lower the effective differential ratio, thus the engine RPM at freeway speeds would be lower. :) thanks!

I have to agree with you, I love these wheels! I think they are going to stay for awhile...

I almost forgot, in between the Chrome Ultras and these I had a set of 20x9 0 offset Novakanes with 305/50/20 Terras, but that combo just wasn't wide/aggressive enough for me

Can you show me some pics of your front end love the all white

Is your truck 2wd? 3" level? How's the clearance up front

Yes and yes, truck is leveled and looks badass. Tires rubbed a little so I had to trim a little on the back. Edited by NitroDatsik

Thanks. I'm just debating 305/50 or 305/55/20 next. I think I'll rub too much with 55s.

I would do something like 285 or 295-55 and get some - offset. Mine rubbed mostly because they are so wide. I think if I would of gotten thinner tires I wouldn't rubbed. It was less then a fingers with that rubbed on mine at full lock.

They are a very decent tire. I honestly think duratracs are better in the snow/packed snow/ice but these are not too shabby in those conditions either. They lack lateral grip and could use a few more sipes. Dirt/ rock roads are no prob at 50-60mph.

They are heavy pigs though as all of Toyos. 72ish lbs each and rolling resistance sucks. My mpg went from 16-17 to 13-14.

I'm gonna rock these these the summer and will have duratracs before next winter.
