Looks like the Texas Boys have the most problems, perhaps it's the drawl....Just kidding boys...

Can't believe yours can hear you clearly with a mouth full of Wendy's.

No matter how slowly and clearly I speak, it cannot determine an address. It's just another poorly designed GM system.

Do you really believe for a second that GM would actually design a voice recognition system? Most likely they licensed someone else's VR tech. Most standalone VR software is as annoying as what we're dealing with here. The reason Google and Apple VR is decent is because we are sending recordings of what we said over the internet to be decoded by much more powerful VR software on their ends. Their results are leaps and bounds better than you can ever expect to get from locally decoded systems.

Google has on phone offline voice recognition for the last 3 operating systems. There is no need for this thing to have issue without a connection.

I have issue with it all the time and don't use it much because. POI is useless unless you want McDonald's (tried it when frustrated and made even more mad). I've found I an look up the address on google maps and then it will almost always take a full long address first try. Yet simple little commands are so much trouble to do. That is so backwards.

i will agree that the voice recognition for addresses and POI is frustrating. the best workaround i find is to use the onstar app's map feature on my phone to look up POIs and then send them to the nav.

But you can use the "map of" command to have google now locate the POI on a map, so you are almost don't input anything. You pretty much just have to read it from the phone to the voice commands of the truck. Silly that you have to do this in the first place. I also get tired of waiting for it to listen for my command. If you go to Google Now, it just beeps and listens to you. If you want to learn a command you learn it instead of it trying to teach you for the rest of time.

I almost forgot. I went on a long trip after getting this truck just to enjoy it and the country. With only 2000 miles on the truck, we were still figuring things out. We had figured out how to plan out a entire day out with Waypoints, but we were adding them with voice and text input. We found at the end you can send plans from MapQuest and right at the same time my account locked me out. It was from something on OnStar's end and that department is closed on the weekends. For this reason, I have never tried it. Plus, until just now didn't remember it.

Sometimes it doesn't recognize the name ever, but overall works quite well.

Thanks Jennifer... No I wasn't aware of that number. I'll give them a call.

And, yes, I love the new truck. Seems like everywhere I go, I get the "wow" factor!

I am having the same problem, did you get a resolution?

In a word... No.

I have a 2013 Equinox and a 2014 Silverado.

The voice commands in the 'Nox work perfectly, but the bluetooth/Pandora connection is horrible.

The voice commands in the Silvy are horrible, but the bluetooth/Pandora connection are perfect.

In the Silverado, I have mounted my phone on the vent with a phone-clip and I just use my phone if I need to call someone. Still comes through truck speakers perfectly via bluetooth, just difficult to use voice commands.

On a positive note, I have gotten better at "knowing how to use" the voice command system. It just takes a little trial and error. Usually doesn't work unless I have placed or received a call prior to using voice command, then it works fine. It's like the truck has to get into "Phone Mode" before it understands your command.

    • Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.
    • I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.
    • I have these on two vehicles and love them. Pepper is one of them 😉
    • 4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.
    • 2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
