Unwanted Transfer Case Shift to Neutral Recall

Has anyone else noticed it shifting hard/irregular after the recall was done? I thinking of taking it back to the dealer.

My service writer explained that part of the transfer case recall involved re-flashing the transmission. Meaning the trans now has to "relearn" your driving habits. I noticed it too, and he said it's normal. Been driving it the past two days and it's getting better.

Well, now I just sound paranoid... probably from just driving the other vehicle around all day.

I didn't notice any difference in the shifting patterns.

I don't want my transmission reflashed! As it is now the transmission shifts perfectly, smoothly.....blows my old 4 speed out of the water! I don't know if it was because I was diligent about following the manual and keeping the vehicle under 55mph for the first 500 miles and varying speeds and RPM's during that process......basically driving around town only for 500 miles. But the transmission shifts great and I'm hoping it's just a transfer case reflash as you guys are now posting.

I haven't noticed any hard shifting or anything.

I wouldn't worry too much. My truck drove fine before the flashing, and now drives fine after the flashing.

Mine doesn't, in the lower gears it's definitely shifting hard after the recall. Even my wife noticed the change and said I should take it back to the dealer. I'll leave it for a week or so and see if it improves.

Well then my dealership blatantly lied to me, straight to my face, or I'm just trying to cause panic. You decide.

If there's one thing I've learned with this new truck and visiting a different dealer, it's that the story you get from dealers is completely inconsistent from one dealer to the next. On top of that, the service rep you talk to is basically a warm body that enters crap into a computer and takes your payment. 99% of the time they know jack about these trucks and always rely on their mechanics for detailed information.

This doesn't even take into account the actual care for the customer and the willingness to solve a problem with a vehicle that also varies from dealership to dealership.

Fondupot, should it surprise you that dealership management would lie too you? And if he was just misinformed that wouldn't surprise me. The amount of idiots an strokers in this business still amazes me after 32 years. So many of them are always trying to be "the guy" or the one with all the answers and just telling customers what they want to hear. All while not having a clue what's really going on.

Sorry for the rant. After so many years, one becomes quite jaded.
